Safety Instructions
• Do not exceed max. operating speed of tool and clam-
ping element.
• Observe accurate mounting of tools.
• Secure work, use clamps or vise to hold work.
• The grinder operator shall wear safety goggles or face
shield at all times when the grinder is in operation.
• If noise level exceeds 85 dB(A) at the work station,
sound insulation and hearing protection measures
must be taken by the operator.
• For additional personal protection, it is advisable to
connect tool to a ground fault circuit interrupter,(only in
damp areas).

Before Start-up
Voltage Warning
Before connecting tool to a power source, be sure the
voltage supplied is the same as specified on the name
plate of the tool. The power supply should not vary more
than 10% above or below the voltage indicated on the
nameplate.
On-off switch
Before connecting power cord to receptacle, make sure
that switch 8 is in the Off -0- Position.
Operation conditions and instructions
This tool is equipped with an electronic variable speed
tachometer selector and an overload cut-out switch, which
operates as follows:
1. Soft start
2. With increased work pressure more current is drawn ,
which virtually holds speed at a constant rpm.
3. If the motor is overloaded, the electronic cuts off the
power. In this event switch at once to OFF position,

restart right away to assure cooling effect in no load
mode. Repeated automatic cut off indicates, tool is
being overloaded.
Attention: Even if the cut-out is not activated, danger of
overloading always exists, thus don't force the tool in or-
der not to increase unnecessarily excessive current draw,
which overheads the motor.

Select required speed with variable speed selector 9 for
correct surface feet./M.O.S.

Attention: Do not change pre-selected speed while tool is
running and has working tools mounted.
Do not treat any material containing asbestos.
Disconnect Tools
When changing accessories and abrasives, burs, brushes
etc.
• Hold spindle 3 with wrench 7, release or tighten clam-
ping nut 5 with wrench 6. Clean collet and collet holder
before installation.
• Check concentricity, use only vibration free tools and
always observe M.O.S. (Max. operating speed).
Maintenance
• Store tool in a clean, dry place.
• Disconnect tool when not in use and before servicing.
• The ventilator openings for cool air must be kept free
and clean, use air gun to blow out dirt.
• Replace grease in USC 9-R grinder every other time,
when carbon brushes are replaced. Use the
authorized service center nearest you .
• Damaged plugs and cords must be replaced immedia-
tely.
• Repairs must only be done by a qualified/licensed elec-
trician, otherwise it could be hazardous to the operator.
• Warranty claims can only be considered, if tool is retur-
ned complete.
