Application
Surface mounted thermostatic mixers are designed for
hot water supply via pressurized storage heater and
utilized in this way provide the best temperature
accuracy. With sufficient power (from 18 kW
or 250 kcal/min) electric or gas instantaneous heaters
are suitable.
Thermostats cannot be used in connection with low
pressure storage heaters.
All thermostats are adjusted in the plant at a flow
pressure on both sides of 45 psi.
If temperature deviations should exist due to special
installation conditions, then the thermostat is to be
adjusted to the local conditions (see Adjustment).

At a flow pressure over 72.5 psi it is recommended that
a pressure reducing valve be fitted in the supply line.

Installation
Flush pipes thoroughly!
Install S-unions, dimensions necessary, see fold-out
page I, Fig. [1].
Screw-mount the mixer, see Fig. [1] and [2].
1. Turn the pre mounted screw-ring (A) about 30°.
The screw-ring (A) can be placed from flat of nut to
connection piece of wall connection piece (B), see
Fig. [1] and [2].
2. Screw on wall connection piece (B) with open-ended
spanner 32mm until noticeable resistance is felt. To
avoid deformations at wall connection piece (B)
do not tighten too much, see Fig. [2]!
3. Slip screw-ring (A) on again on flat of nut from wall
connection piece (B). Turn the screw-ring (A)
about 30°, so that the screw-ring (A) is locked.
4. Over the screw-ring (A) the escutcheon (C) must be
screwed against the wall.
Refer to the dimensional drawing on fold-out page I.
Open cold and hot-water supply and check
connections for leakage!
Reversed union (hot on right - cold on left).

Before the mixer is put into service if the mixed

water temperature measured at the point of
discharge varies from the specified temperature set
on the thermostat.

After any maintenance operation on the thermostatic
cartridge.
1. Open the shutt-off valve and check the
temperature of the water with a thermometer, see
176 °F (80 °C)
fig. [3].
2. Unscrew and remove set screw (D1) with a 2mm
158 °F (60 °C)
socket spanner supplied.
3. Pull off knob (D), see fig. [4].
100 °F (38 °C)
4. Unscrew screw (E) and pull off snap insert (F).
5. Pull off temperature control handle (G).
6. Turn adjusting nut (H) until the water temperature
reaches 100 °F (38 °C).
7. Install temperature control handle (G) in such a
right
way that the 100° F (38 °C) mark coincides with
the mark (J) on the mixer body, see fig. [3].

8. Fit snap insert (F) and install with screw (E), see
= 1.3 gpm
fig. [4].
9. Fit knob (D).
10.Screw in set screw (D1) with 2mm socket spanner
supplied.
Temperature limitation
The safety stop limits the temperature range
to 100 °F (38 °C).
If a higher temperature is desired, the 100 °F (38 °C)
limit can be overridden by pressing the button (G1).
