4.1

Connection to the Radio/Transmitter

The PTT module and headset should be connected to the radio before switching on the terminal. Do not
disconnect the device while the radio is in use.

Turn off the radio terminal

Connect the radio to the PTT module using the supplied plug.
(3)
If the plug is equipped with a locking device, lock the connector to the radio terminal.
(4)
Remove the protective foam of the PTT (between the module and the activation button).
(5)
Position the PTT in the preferred position (belt, shoulder straps, etc.) using the provided clip or
pincer.
(6)
Turn on the radio terminal. Refer to Radio Terminal user's instructions if needed.
(7)
Adjust the volume on the radio to an appropriate level.
(8)
To listen to incoming messages, release the PTT push button.
(9)
To speak (provided that the line is open), push the PTT push button and speak loud and clear.
(10)
Release the push button once transmission is over.

On and off (O)
Press key (O) to activate the electronic functions. To switch off, hold the same key (O) pressed in for 1
second.

Volume adjustment (+/-)
Press briefly on the volume keys to adjust volume of the ambient sound, down (-) or up (+).
The volume can be adjusted in four steps.The volume starts in the mode at which it was switched off. The
output signal from the sound reproduction system of the product will not exceed the known risk level for
damage to hearing. Sound via the speaker is limited to maximum 82 dB(A) equivalent sound level.
Battery-saving mode
This product is provided with a battery economy function to ensure maximum battery life. The function auto-
matically switches the product off after 4 hours if no key is activated during this period.
To restart, push the key located at the middle of the keypad (O). About 2 minutes before automatic switch-
off a tone sounds as a warning that the product will be switched off. Press any key to delay the switch-off
by a further 4 hours.

Keep a distance of 20 to 30 cm between the PTT and the radio module to avoid any risk of
interference that may reduce communication quality.
Incoming communications are now directed to the headset loudspeaker (1 or 2 speakers).
The devices are designed for use with 1-way radios (simplex mode).
