Operation and
controls
See Figure 1.
The appliance is equipped with the
following features:
1 Housing
2 Baking plates
3 Hinged top
4 On/Off indicator light (red)
5 Temperature indication light (green)
6 Closing clip
7 Power cord and plug
Before use for the first time
1 Take the appliance out of the
packaging.
2 Clean the appliance. See 'Cleaning and
maintenance'.
Use
• Place the appliance on a flat, stable,
heat-resistant and splash-proof
surface where it cannot fall.
• Take care when using the appliance.
The baking plates are very hot and can
cause burns when you touch them.
• Beware of steam and splashes when
you pour the waffle mixture onto the
hot baking plate and when you close
the lid.
• The appliance's housing will also
become hot, since the housing is an
excellent conductor of heat.
• Use oven gloves if you need to touch
the appliance during or after use.
1 Check whether the baking plates are
clean and that no food remnants or dust
are stuck on them. If necessary, clean
the baking plates with a damp cloth.
2 Brush a thin layer of vegetable oil or
butter on the baking plates. This is
beneficial to the non-stick coating.
3 Put the plug into the wall socket. The
red On/Off indicator light will illuminate.
The appliance will now heat up.
4 The set temperature has been attained
once the green temperature indication
light extinguishes. Put on oven gloves
and carefully open the hinged top.
5 Pour the waffle mixture carefully onto
the baking plate. Don't let the mixture
drip over the edge of the baking plate.
Press the folding lid carefully down onto
the waffle mixture and close the lid with
the closing clip. When closing the
folding lid, steam may escape from
between the baking plates.
6 Bake the waffles. For the length of the
baking process, follow the instructions
on the waffle mixture packaging. Stay
close to the appliance in order to check
from time to time whether the waffles
are ready and that they do not burn.
7 When the waffles are ready, put on your
oven gloves and carefully open the
folding lid. Beware of steam.
