Setup
The control unit can detect up to 32 detectors. Each detector's individual factory code must be addressed. The
detector's code is automatically transmitted to the unit when placing the batteries inside each detector. In order to
address a detector, you must place the battery in the detector, then select the "wrench" icon on the display to access
detector and remote controls setup mode. The unit supports up to 8 remote controls that can arm and disarm the
unit from about a 10 meter distance.
When addressing has been completed, select NEW and then OK to address a new detector.
Select OLD then OK, to change the setup of a detector that has already been addressed.
Enter a "name" for the detector. Its name should readily identify the window/door that the detector is protecting, e.g.
"kitchen window" and can be up to 17 letters long. Press ABC once to enter letter "A", twice to enter letter "B", three
times to enter letter "C". Use this same logic to enter the other letters.
Alarm delay. Press YES and then OK if you want the alarm to take place after 20 seconds (not adjustable) to give
you the time to disarm the system from the control unit. Press OK if you don't want to set the alarm delay thereby
triggering an immediate alarm.
Assign zones. Associate the detector to A or B zones based on partial arming requirements, then press OK. If your
system includes SIRENYA sirens and/or Hablo sounders, you can set them up to play a deterring voice message that
is repeated for 3 minutes instead of sounding a standard alarm sound. The recorded message plays as warning such
as: "Warning, you have accessed a protected area. Leave immediately." or some other message (see alarm devices
instructions). Press YE$ and then OK to select the voice message option. Just press OK to select the 3 minute standard
alarm sound. Setup this option for each individual detector and the detector will warn accordingly when the system is
armed. This feature allows you to select if the detectors in a specific zone should trigger a voice message or a powerful
standard alarm sound.
Place the battery in the detector and close its housing when this message is displayed. The message CONFIRMED
will display when the detector has been properly setup. Remove the battery from the sensor, wait a minute and try
again should the message not be displayed. The detector is not located within radio range if the CONFIRMED message
continues not to be displayed. Place the unit closer to the detector and perform the above steps again. Setup all of the
other detectors, then press ESC to exit setup mode.
Troubleshooting
Caution! The system's radio range is regulated in compliance with EU standards which are usually enough for a 250 square meter residential unit with several rooms
that may be located on multiple floors. Some unforeseeable local conditions, such as where some sensors or the Controller's receiver are placed, could cause poor
transmission range. In this event, you must enable the system's TEST mode to locate the best position for Controller's installation.
If you experience problems in setting up only one specific detector out of many, this detector could be faulty and need to be replaced under warranty.
You are instead experiencing radio range issues that could be caused by reinforced concrete walls or rooms containing several metal furniture, if many detectors
cannot be setup. In this event, you need to install a Sentinel repeater (part no. 5409) near the area where critical sensors are located.
Strong local electromagnetic pollution is likely when you are unable to setup most detectors. This can occur when repeaters and/or radio transmitters are located
near the area since same interfere with low power transmissions and may hinder operations. Seek technical assistance from the supplier should you experience
strong electromagnetic interference.
Programming changes
Enter the secret code, press the wrench icon and then select OLD. All
setup detectors will display, starting from the first one that was setup.
Press ↓↑ to scroll down the list. When you reach the required detector,
press OK to display its features, disable it or re-enable should it have
already been disabled (temporary fault). You may also delete the
detector from the system, but you will need to set it up again if you wish
to re-use it once it has been deleted. Select the required option and
them press OK to confirm.
Deleting a detector (also used to replace a faulty detector) requires
double confirmation. Press OK again when the "ARE YOU SURE?" prompt
is displayed. Caution! You should always delete any sensor that has been
removed from system to avoid receiving failed supervisory reports.
Disabling a detector also requires a second confirmation. This option
is used when you do not want to control a specific window/door. A
disabled detector is enabled again in the same manner.
Caution! The selections made during setup cannot be changed. You
will have to delete a detector and set it up again with new parameters
should you wish to change them.
