cables shall be used to safeguard against possible hose-to-tool or hose-to-hose connection failure. Do not exceed the maximum
air pressure stated on the tool. Never carry an air tool by the hose.
CONDITIONS OF OPERATION
Make sure the source of compressed air permits to reach the adequate operating pressure and the required air fl ow. If the air
pressure is too high, it is necessary to use a reducer with a safety valve. The pneumatic device must be powered through a fi lter
and lubricator system. It will guarantee cleanliness and lubrication of the air with oil. The conditions of the fi lter and the lubricator
must be revised before each use and, if necessary, the fi lter must be cleaned and the level of oil in the lubricator replenished. It
will guarantee appropriate operation of the device and prolong its durability.
During work adapt a position that will counteract normal or unpredictable movements of the machine.
Before replacement of the head or any other element, the riveting machine must be disconnected from the source of compressed air.
It is prohibited to use the machine without the rivet head, since it increases the risk of cRUShing a part of the body by the machine.
It is prohibited to use the machine without the protection against ejected, cut stems of the rivets.
In case of an interruption of the power supply of the device, release the trigger of the machine.
It is necessary to use solely those lubricants and preservation agents which are recommended in the following part of the manual.
During work, it is necessary to wear protective goggles; it is recommended to use gloves and protective uniform.
OPERATION OF THE DEVICE
Before each use of the machine, make sure that no element of the pneumatic system is damaged. If any damage has been ob-
served, it is necessary to replace the damaged element with new elements of the system which are not damaged.
Before each use of the pneumatic system, it is necessary to dry the condensed humidity inside the machine, the compressor and
the pipes.
Connection of the machine to the pneumatic system
The drawing presents the recommended connection of the machine to the pneumatic system. The presented connection will
guarantee the most eff ective use of the tool, and will prolong its durability.
Place a couple of drops of SAE 10 viscosity oil to the air inlet.
Screw tightly to the thread of the air inlet a proper adapter that makes it possible to connect the air supply hose (II)
Install a proper adapter on the driver of the machine. Use solely the equipment which is adapted for operation with percus-
sive devices.
Wherever it is possible, adjust the pressure.
Connect the machine to the pneumatic system using a pipe of the internal diameter 3/8". Make sure, the resistance of the pipe is
at least 1.38MPa. (III)
Turn the device on for a few seconds to make sure it does not emit any irregular sounds or vibrations.
Installation and replacement of the equipment
Using the ring, screw down the protection for broken rivet stems (IV). It is prohibited to use the riveting machine without the
protection.
Install a header which is appropriate for the given task (V). The head must be selected in accordance to the length and diameter
of the applied rivets. It is prohibited to use the riveter without a head.
Work with the riveting machine
Drill a hole of the diameter of the rivet which is to be used to connect the elements. Place the rivet in the hole.
Install all the pieces of equipment in the riveting machine.
Install an appropriate head.
Connect the riveting machine to the pneumatic system.
Place the head of the riveter on the protruding stem of the rivet so as it touches the rivet (VI).
Push the trigger; after riveting and cutting the remaining part of the rivet, the device is ready for the next riveting.
Once the job has been concluded, the pneumatic system must be dismantled and maintenance operations of the device must
be executed.
MAINTENANCE
Never use petrol, solvents or other infl ammable liquids to clean the device. The vapours may ignite and cause an explosion of the
tool and, in consequence, serious injuries.
Solvents used to clean the grip and the body of the machine may cause softening of the sealing. Dry the tool thoroughly before
commencement of the work.
If any irregularities in the operation of the machine are detected, the tool must be immediately disconnected from the pneumatic system.
