These operating instructions should
be kept for later use and enclosed
with the device when passing it on or
selling it.
Do not use the battery charger out-
doors.
Do not attempt to recharge batteries
that cannot be charged.
Intended use.
The battery charger is intended:
For commercial use in trades, for
charging and recharging Fein NiCd
and NiMH battery packs with a bat-
tery voltage between 9.6 – 18 V and a
rated capacity from 800 mAh to
3000 mAh.
The battery packs can contain 8 to 15
cells each with 1.2 V.
Safety instructions.
This charger can be used by children
aged from 8 years and above and per-
sons with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities or lack of expe-
rience and knowledge if they have
been given supervision or instruction
concerning the safe use of the charger
and understand the hazards involved.
Children may not play with the
charger. Cleaning and users mainte-
nance may not be performed by chil-
dren without supervision.

Risk of injury
When using the battery charger the fol-
lowing basic safety precautions should
be observed for protection against
electric shock, danger of injury and
burns.
Please read and observe these instruc-
tions before using the device.
Before using the device check that the
mains cable and mains plug are not
damaged.
The device must not be damp, neither
should it be used in a damp environ-
ment.
Do not use the device if it has suffered
any heavy knocks or jolting, or is
damaged in any other way.
Due to the heat generated during
charging, the battery charger should
not be operated on a combustible
surface/in an inflammable environ-
ment.
Do not cover over the ventilating slits.
Never disassemble the device your-
self. Danger of an electric shock or fire
could be caused by improper
re-assembly.
Pull the plug of the battery charger
out of the socket when it is not in use
or when cleaning it.
Only use extension cable that is
approved and technically in perfect
condition.
During operation provide for suffi-
cient ventilation. Malfunction during
charging can be caused by storing and
operating in places where the temper-
ature exceeds +40 °C; this should be
avoided at all costs.
Battery charging in closed cupboards,
near heat sources (radiators, bright
sunshine), etc. causes heat to accumu-
late and will possibly destroy the
device.
