Congratulations!
You've just bought a Vortice unit that has an
advance design and excellent performance
characteristics.
This unit can solve all your problems regarding
getting rid of smoke, odors and humidity.
By connecting it to a duct, you can get rid
of the polluting by-products produced
in the kitchen.
If you mount your unit together with an exhaust
fan, you can send kitchen air-borne odors
and grease out through an air vent.
Please read this booklet with care before
using your Vortice appliance. Vortice cannot
be held responsible for injuries or damage to
goods due to the non-compliance with the
warnings and instructions of this booklet.

the appliance are explained in this booklet.
To ensure the duration and electrical and
mechanical reliability of this product, please follow
all the instructions carefully. Keep this booklet with
care for future reference.
• Do not use this appliance for any other application
than stated in this booklet.
• After removing the appliance from its packaging,
make sure that it is intact: in case of doubt seek
advice from a qualified person. Do not leave
packaging materials within the reach of children
or mentally disabled people.
• Should the appliance be dropped or suffer a heavy
blow, have it checked immediately by an
authorized Vortice Service Centre.
• When using any electrical appliance some basic
rules should be observed, among which:
- never touch the appliance with wet or damp
hands;
- never touch the appliance when barefoot;
- never let the appliance be operated by children
or mentally disabled people.
• Only connect the appliance to the power
supply/outlet if:
- the power supply values correspond the those of
the rating label (Fig. 1-A)
- the maximum rated capacity of the appliance is
suitable for the current of the main system/socket.
If it does not, consult a qualified person at once.

Special warnings
• The appliance has been constructed in accordance
with good engineering practice in safety matters.
• The appliance must not be exposed to atmospheric
conditions (rain, sun, etc.).
• The various correct applications are shown in
Fig. A.
• Do not sit on the unit or rest objects either against
or on top of it.
• Do not immerse the appliance or any of its parts in
water (unless stated otherwise under "Cleaning").
• Do not operate the appliance in the presence of
inflammable vapours (alcohol, insecticides,
petrol etc.).
• Since the appliance is double insulated, it does not
need to be earthed.
• When installing the appliance, a multipolar switch
must be used. The switch interpole distance must
be no less than 3 mm.
• Make sure the intake and extract points are
unobstructed and can permit free airflow.
• Effective appliance operation requires adequate
room-air replenishment. Moreover, if there is also a
water heater, gas stove, etc. drawing its air for
combustion from the same room, room-air
replenishment must be increased to allow all
appliances to work effectively.
• Your unit must either be mounted to a single duct
designed specifically for exhausting kitchen
combustion products, or so mounted so that it
exhausts directly to the outside.
• Try to keep inflammable substances (flambé) away
from the unit.
• Frying operations can be dangerous, so be careful
because released particles of oil and grease can
mix with the air and produce a highly combustible
mixture.
• Oil that has been already used can be particularly
inflammable. With electric stoves, always make
sure the grilles are covered.
• To avoid the risk of fire, follow the cleaning
instructions carefully and make sure all traces of
oil and grease are removed from the unit.
• Just use warm water and a neutral detergent for
cleaning the painted surfaces of your unit.
Never use any abrasives. The best thing to do is
use specialized products and follow the directions
given on the package.
• The butterfly valve must only be installed when
your particular country's safety norms make it
mandatory.
• The person who has the job of installing your unit
bears full responsibility for installing it correctly.
