Total vibration values a
(triax vector sum) and uncertainty K
h
determined according to EN 60745-1: a
2
K=1.5 m/s
.
The vibration level given in these instructions has been
measured in accordance with a standardised measuring pro-
cedure and may be used to compare power tools. It can also
be used for a preliminary estimation of exposure to vibra-
tion.
The stated vibration level applies to the main applications of
the power tool. However, if the power tool is used for differ-
ent applications, with different application tools or poorly
maintained, the vibration level may differ. This can signific-
antly increase the exposure to vibration over the total work-
ing period.
To estimate the exposure to vibration accurately, the times
when the tool is switched off or when it is running but not ac-
tually being used should also be taken into account. This can
significantly reduce the exposure to vibration over the total
working period.
Implement additional safety measures to protect the oper-
ator from the effects of vibration, such as servicing the
power tool and application tools, keeping the hands warm,
and organising workflows correctly.
Operation
Pull the plug out of the socket before carrying out any
u
work on the power tool.
Products that are only sold in AUS and NZ: Use a resid-
u
ual current device (RCD) with a nominal residual current
of 30 mA or less.
Operating modes
Blowing (see figure A)
For the blowing operating mode, attach the nozzle (7) tightly
onto the air outlet (5) as indicated by the arrow markings.
Vacuuming (see figure B)
For the vacuuming operating mode, attach the nozzle (7)
tightly onto the air inlet (9) as indicated by the arrow mark-
ings.
Also ensure that the dust bag (8) is always attached to the
air outlet (5).

Starting Operation

Pay attention to the mains voltage. The voltage of the
u
power source must match the voltage specified on the
rating plate of the power tool. Power tools marked
with 230 V can also be operated with 220 V.
Switching on/off
To switch on the power tool, press the on/off switch (2).
To lock the on/off switch (2), press and hold it while also
pushing the lock-on button for the on/off switch (3).
To switch off the power tool, release the on/off switch (2).
If the on/off switch (2) is locked, press the switch first and
then release it.
Bosch Power Tools
Regulating airflow
2
<2.5 m/s
,
Turn the thumbwheel (4) to set the required airflow:
h
– Clockwise: Increase the airflow
– Anticlockwise: Decrease the airflow
Working Advice
Ensure that the air inlet (9) cannot suck in any impurities
while blowing is taking place.
Never vacuum without a dust bag.
Do not vacuum any sharp-edged or hot materials such as
glass splinters, hot ashes or metal chips.
Empty the dust bag regularly when vacuuming. Observe en-
vironmental regulations when disposing of waste.

Maintenance and Servicing

Maintenance and cleaning

Pull the plug out of the socket before carrying out any
u
work on the power tool.
To ensure safe and efficient operation, always keep
u
the power tool and the ventilation slots clean.
In order to avoid safety hazards, if the power supply cord
needs to be replaced, this must be done by Bosch or by a
customer service centre that is authorised to repair Bosch
power tools.
Replacing the carbon brushes (see figure C)
Check the length of the carbon brushes around every 2–3
months and replace both carbon brushes if required.
Never replace only a single carbon brush.
Note: Only use carbon brushes supplied by Bosch and inten-
ded specifically for your product.
– Unscrew the caps (6) using a suitable screwdriver.
– Replace the spring-loaded carbon brushes (10) and
screw the caps back on.
The criteria for replacing the carbon brushes: A dashed or
dotted line is present on one large side of the carbon brush.
If one of the two carbon brushes has been worn down to this
line, both carbon brushes should be replaced immediately in
order to protect the commutator from any potential damage.
