Try out the different options by inserting the wedge into the corner between the two blades and holding it temporarily in place with
adhesive tape.
Once the preferred stiffness has been determined, secure the wedge definitively using cyanoacrylate glue (Ref. Proteor XC050 /
Sicomet 8300) by following the steps described below.
Sand the largest face of the
wedge to produce a rough
surface.
D. Finishing
To avoid any rubbing noises, refit the sock up to the pyramid base and secure it in place using fine thread or something similar.
The malleolar clip provided allows the foot to be removed easily and quickly from the cosmetic foam of the calf prosthesis.
Comply with traditional good professional practices in terms of fitting the malleolar clip to cosmetic elements.
7. DETECTING ANY MALFUNCTIONING
If you notice that the device is behaving abnormally or if its characteristics feel different, or if it has been badly knocked, consult your
prosthetist/orthotist.
8. WARNINGS, CONTRAINDICATIONS, SIDE EFFECTS
A. Warnings
Using the foot in a way that goes against the advice given by your prosthetist/orthotist may damage or degrade the foot's components
(e.g. carrying heavy loads, excessive stresses, use after its service life has expired, etc.)
The device is resistant to fresh water, salt water and chlorinated water, and requries compliance with the care instruction specified
in §9.A.
B. Contraindications
This foot is not intended to be used for activities associated with a risk of significant impact or excessive loading.
C. Side effects
There are no side effects directly associated with the device.
Any serious incident that occurs which relates to the device must be reported to the manufacturer and to the competent authority
of the member state in which the incident occurred.
9. MAINTENANCE, STORAGE, DISPOSAL AND SERVICE LIFE
A. Maintenance/cleaning
Clean the shell with a damp cloth or sponge.
All work on the foot should be performed by the prosthetist/orthotist; no other operations, such as lubrication, work on the
fastenings or other work, need to be performed.
After being used in water:
•
Rinse the foot with clean water
•
Dry thoroughly
The presence of sand, particles or foreign bodies inside the foot may modify its behaviour and damage it. After use in a highly soiling
environment:
•
Extract the foot from the foot shell using a shoehorn and remove the sock
•
Rinse the foot and other components in clean water to remove any particles.
•
Dry the various components before refitting the sock and reinserting the foot in the foot shell.
•
Pull up firmly on the front of the sock to prevent it from getting caught between the moving parts of the foot.
The foot shell, sock and malleolar clip are the only components of the foot which may need to be replaced (in the event of wear, loss, etc.).
Foot shell:
•
Use a shoehorn to remove and refit the foot shell.
•
Only use spare parts kit 1A60020-XYY (X: Side/YY: Size (cm)) including foot shell, sock and malleolar clip.
