Do not try to cut branches larger than 7/16"
in diameter.
For best results, trim the sides of hedges with
an upward sweeping motion (see Figure 11).
Cut from the bottom and work your way up.
This will keep cut material from falling into
areas not yet cut.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

WARNING
Remove battery from the trimmer
before cleaning or servicing.
Severe injury or death could
occur from fire, electrical shock,
or body contact with moving
cutter blades.
WARNING
When cleaning trimmer:
• Do not submerse trimmer in
any liquids
• Do not use products that
contain Ammonia, Chlorine,
or abrasives
• Do not use chlorinated clean-
ing solvents, carbon tetrachlo-
ride, kerosene or gasoline.

TRIMMER OPERATION
Trim the hedges so that the top is slightly
narrower than the bottom.
To trim extremely level hedges, use a string
stretched along the length of the hedge as a
guide (see Figure 12).

TRIMMER MAINTENANCE

Use a soft cloth dampened with a mild soap
and water mixture to wipe trimmer housing
(see Figure 13).
Use a stiff brush to clean cutter blades, then
wipe with a cloth. Do not spray or pour water di-
rectly onto trimmer (see Figure 14, page 11).
