Initial Operation
Check for correct mains voltage: The voltage of
the power source must agree with the voltage spec-
ified on the nameplate of the machine. Equipment
marked with 230 V can also be connected to 220 V.
Switching On and Off
Switching on: Press on/off switch 7 and retain with
locking button 6.
Switching off: Press and release on/off switch 7.
Infinitely-variable stroke rate
adjustment
Light application of pressure on on/off switch 7 re-
sults in low stroke rate. Increasing pressure results in
a higher stroke rate.
Stroke rate preselection
The required stroke rate can be preselected (also
during operation) using the thumbwheel 8. The
preselected stroke rate remains almost constant,
even under load.
After working for longer periods at low stroke rate al-
low the machine to cool down by running it at maxi-
mum stroke rate and no-load for approx. 3 minutes.
Replacing/inserting the
saw blade
When changing the saw blade, take care that the
blade holder is free of material residue (e. g. wood or
metal shavings).
To insert/replace the saw blade, press the slider 3
downward. Pull out the saw blade or insert to the
stop (fig. A). Take care that the saw blade can no
longer be pulled out after inserting.
Before putting into operation, check the saw
blade for secure seating.
Pivoting Base Plate
For adapting to and providing a secure rest for vari-
ous materials, the angle of the base plate 2 is varia-
ble (fig. B).

Orbital Action Setting
By means of the adjustable orbital ac-
tion, the contact of the saw blade can
be adapted to the material to be
worked. The saw blade is lifted from
the workpiece on the downward
stroke which improves chip ejection
and increases the service life of the
saw blade.
The orbital action can be selected in 4 steps with the
knob 5. The switching can be made with the machine
running:
Orbital action switched off
(Step 0):
For working thin or hard material such
as sheet metal or steel.
When using tools such as files and
rasps or to achieve clean cutting
edges.
Orbital action step I:
For working non-ferrous metals, hard-
wood, plastics or materials of medium
density.
Orbital action step II:
For working with soft materials such
as light building materials, insulation
material, etc.
Orbital action step III:
For working with soft materials such
as soft wood or tree wood.
Operating Instructions
Sawing
Do not work with materials containing asbestos.
Do not cover the ventilation slots 4 underneath
the tool holder with the hand.
Adjust saw blade, stroke rate and orbital action to the
material to be processed.
Check wood, chip boards, building materials etc. for
foreign bodies (nails, screws, etc.) before sawing
and remove them, if necessary.
Clamp material well. Do not support workpiece with
hand or foot. Do not touch objects or the floor with
the saw running (danger of kick-back)!
