Interesting facts worth knowing
Coffee is a red cherry that grows on coffee trees or bushes. The actual coffee bean is the seed
that is inside the cherry.
The taste of beverages containing coffee depends on the quality of the coffee or espresso
beans used. A requirement for good preparation of coffee beverages is the optimal grinding of
the roasted beans, because this increases the surface area for contact with water and thus the
release of aromas.
A roasted coffee bean contains more than 1.000 different flavors and aromas.
After a few minutes, the ground coffee powder already loses over 50% of its aroma. That is why
coffee experts recommend storing beans whole in air-tight and light-impermeable containers and
only grinding as many beans as you need at any one time.
Old coffee beans lead to an unpleasant taste. Therefore, keep the amount of beans stored in the
coffee bean container to a minimum and use for long-term storage air-tight and light-impermea-
ble containers .
