7.3 SELECTION OF LID TYPES

In principle all sorts of vegetables and fruit can be pro-
cessed with both types. However it is advantageous to
use the lid types as follows for quicker and ergonomic
processing:
Circular lid for
Soft and/or round fruits/vegetables
The lid with circular hole (standard for Vitamat Inox R)
is optimised for processing soft, round fruits, such as
apples and pears or peeled oranges.
Benefit: Many fruits do not need to be crushed before-
hand this way.
Set the speed switch to Level 1 for apples and very soft
products to maximise the juice yield! For most other
products Level 2 is better.
Lid, semi-circular, for
Smaller and/or harder fruits/vegetables
For smaller or harder fruits and vegetables, such as
carrots, the lid with semi-circular hole is recommended
(standard for Vitamat Inox H).
This reduces wedging or jamming as well as ejection
when filling, and the force used is less.
Always use high speed (Level 2) for carrots and other
hard products!
For both devices, the Vitamat Inox R (circular) and H (semi-
circular), the second lid type can also be purchased as an
option.
