Cool button
The Cool button is ideal for fixing the
hair after drying. It fixes the individual hair
sections with the cool airflow.
The function can be activated at any time
and is active as long as the
pressed.
Styling nozzle
The styling nozzle is specially designed for
drying and styling sections of hair.
Attach the styling nozzle to the
appliance. Make sure it clicks
into place. The nozzle can be
turned as required.
Use:
■ Set the fan and temperature to a higher
setting.
■ Direct the air stream right onto the section
of hair you want to style.
■ To fix the hair, switch on the Cool button
and repeat the process.
Important: The nozzle should never
a ctually touch the hair.
Diffuser
PHD5780 / PHD5980 only
The diffuser is ideal for straight or damaged
hair. It gives fine, long or medium-length
hair more volume.
Hold the tips of the diffuser
upwards, tilt your head side-
ways and run the diffuser into
your hair from below, lifting it
up. The hair should rest gently
between the individual fingers
of the diffuser while drying.

■ To 'set' the volume and natural curls,
press the Cool button
■ Repeat the process with individual

Cleaning and maintenance
W Danger of electric shock!
Allow the appliance to cool and unplug it
before cleaning.
Never place the appliance into water.
Do not use a steam cleaner.
■ Simply wipe the appliance with a damp
cloth and then dry it off. Do not use strong
or abrasive cleaning agents.
■ Open the holder for the air inlet grill and
remove the grill (Fig. A). Rinse and dry
the vent or clean it with a soft brush. After
cleaning, replace the grill and close the
holder.
■ Remove the accessory parts and clean
them. Use only after they have dried off
completely.
Storage
Allow the appliance to cool and
unplug it before storage.
Bind the cable with the cable
tie.
PHD5781 only
For storage purposes, the hair dryer's
h andle can be swiveled through 180° to
save space (Fig. C).
