B – Dry drilling (masonry work)
To drill the first hole without problems, we recommend that
you use the Virax core bits associated with the Virax centring
bit (ref. 050158).
We strongly recommend that you use the dust vacuum
mechanism associated with a dust vacuum machine
(reference available from Virax). This avoids the core bit
being locked through a built of up chips and reduces heating
of the segments.
1 – Set the speed selector to the required position
2 – Press the trigger. The trigger allows for slow start-up to
enable the core bit to enter the material to be drilled by
around 5 to 10 cm.
3 – After removing the centring bit, slowly insert the core bit into the existing drill
hole and work at maximum power by pushing the trigger in fully.
C – Wet drilling (reinforced concrete)
Water is vital for cooling the core bit and removing chips and dust.
1 – Connect the water intake tap to a manual or electric
water pump pipe (references available from Virax).
WARNING! The pressure must never exceed 3
bars.
Make sure that you use the machine with enough
water as you will damage your motor's gaskets if
you work dry.
Only use clean water from the network.
2 – Set the speed selector to the required position
3 – Open the tap and press the trigger. Hold the machine
firmly in both hands.
4 – Work while tilting the machine slightly (around 30° in relation to the machine
axis) or use the Virax centring bit for the first drilling operation, especially for higher
core bit diameters.
5 – Once you have inserted the core bit into the surface (around 1/8 – ¼ of the
circumference of the circle) return to a right angle by applying enough pressure.
Make sure that the core bit does not jam.
