Problem Possible Cause
Dead. No Led Lit No power connected to the player
Dead. Red led lit. Player in Standby.
Not connected correctly.
No picture or sound on Tv
Tv input not selected.
Disc not playing Disc in upside down
Picture freezes and sound mutes Disc dirty or damaged
Double image or picture in Black Progressive scan selected
and White
Sound or Subtitles in wrong Wrong sub titles or sound track
language selected.
No Remote Control function Batteries may be exhausted
Object blocking receiver "eye"

Advanced Features
Remedy
Check all connections and ensure
the power is turned on at the switch
Press the Power button on the
player. If connected to a Tv via the
scart socket the Tv should display
the "Splash screen"
If using the scart socket, ensure the
plugs are seated correctly.
If the Tv is not "Auto select" in scart
mode, manually switch to AV.
Remove disc and place label side
up
Remove disc and inspect for dirt or
damage. Clean disc if dirty and
discard if damaged
If using a normal Tv select Interlace
scan in Screen setup menu
Enter Menu and select correct
language
Replace batteries each 12 months
Remove any objects in I/R path
