Installation instructions: (Golf, Bora)
1.)
Remove the rear bumper cover. To do this first detach the two rear lights at left and right. Then
detach respectively three screws affixing the bumper in the wheel base, two screws at left and right,
a plastic clip at the left and at the right above the bumper, and two screws from below. Likewise
detach the wheel base covering at left and right (removing one screw from below suffices).
2.)
Remove the rear metal bumper.
To do this detach the two screws respectively at right and left. The screws and the metal bumper
are no longer required.
3.)
Move the side parts of the towing hitch [1] so long from the back into the longitudinal beams of
the vehicle until holes "a", are congruent with the holes in the vehicle. At the same time guide the
connecting cable through the opening in the tail plate.
4.)
Fasten the towing hitch at left and right by using the hexagon screws [4] and washers [5] at "a".
Tighten all four screws with a torque of 55Nm +5Nm.
5.)
Pre-assemble the power outlet and the connecting cable on the towing hitch according to the
installation instructions for electrical equipment.
6.)
Cut out the rear spoiler in the area marked from within.
7.)
Reassemble the complete bumper covering , the rear lights and the wheel housing covering.
8.)
Assemble the electrical equipment set completely, using the electrical installation instructions.
