Grabs for lifting standard metal drums (EN ISO 15750-1 & EN ISO 15750-2) in vertical position (capacity
225 litres).
VFR: this model is fitted with an open position automatic locking so as to set down the drum without
having to operate the grab.
VFA: this model is fitted with an automatic device so as to grip and set down the drum without having to
operate the grab.
1. Suspend the grab by its hook ring (1/5) in the open position (VFR locking pawl (6) or VFA automatic
locking system (8) activated).
2. Position the grab vertically with respect to the drum.
3. Lower the grab until it is applied against the drum.
4. VFR: swivel the locking pawl (6) manually whilst starting off the lifting, hold it in the up position to
prevent it from locking against the fastening screw (11). Release the locking pawl (6) making sure
its claw is well above the fastening screw (11) and perform lifting.
5. VFA: lift up the grab. Its automatic system unlocks and the clamp closes on the drum. Lifting can
be performed.
6. When setting down, lower the grab until the locking system is activated (VFR locking pawl (6) on
fastening screw (11) or VFA automatic locking system (8).
7. The grab is then locked in the open position and can be lifted up, ready to be used again.
Drum deformation risk in case of lifting without lid (open drum).
Always make sure that the jaws are free from grease or oil. Degrease them regularly.
Never lift greasy or oily drums.
