Safety guidelines:
1. Wear protective goggles when carrying out
grinding operations .
2. Before starting to use the grinding machi-
ne, the abrasive wheels are to be sound-
tested (abrasive wheels that are in perfect
condition sound clear when tapped lightly
with a plastic hammer). This also applies
when new abrasive wheels are fitted (da-
mage during transport). It is essential that
the machine is given a trial run without
load for at least 5 minutes. The danger
area should be left.
3. Only abrasive wheels may be used that
carry information as to manufacturer, type
of bond, diameter and permitted r.p.m.
4. Abrasive wheels are to be kept in a dry
place where the temperature is as con-
stant as possible.
5. Only the mounting flanges supplied should
be used to fit the abrasive wheels.
6. Only mounting flanges of the same size
and shape may be used to fit the abrasive
wheels. The washers between the flange
and the wheel must be elastic, e.g. rubber,
soft card, etc.
7. The hole mount for abrasive wheels must
not be drilled afterwards.
8. The work rests and the upper adjustable
protective covers must always be as close
as possible to the abrasive wheels.
9. Abrasive wheels may not be operated
without protective devices. The following
distances may not be exceeded:
– work rest/abrasive disc: max. 3 mm
– protective cover/abrasive disc:
max. 5 mm

10. Before using the double spindle grinder,
safety switches, work rests and observati-
on windows must be screwed on.
11. Unplug from mains before changing abra-
sive discs.
12. The max. peripheral speed of the grinding
disc is:
25,64 m/s for DSC 175-m
Calculation:
peripheral speed
d x 3.14 x n
m/s =
60 x 1000
d = diameter of grinding disc in mm
n = motor rpm
Example:
175 x 3.14 x 2800
m/s =
60 x 1000
13. Max. permitted motor housing tempera-
ture: 80°C
14. In order to ensure safe grinding operati-
ons, it is recommended that the machine
is screwed firmly in place.
With noise suppression in accordance with
EN 55014 and EN 60555.
