• Leave the charger as far as possible from the charging battery.
• Examine always if the charger is in the float charging mode before leaving it for
long time without supervision. If the charger doesn't go to this mode at most in
24 hours normally the battery is damaged and then the charger must be manually
switched off.
• Batteries have limited lifetime. Damaged batteries is not always recognised by the
charger so doesn't leave the charger in charging mode for long time without
supervision.
• The charger must not be disassembled. Maintenance is not necessary and wrong
assembling results in risk of electrical choc or fire. If any suspicious of extraneous
operation exists, disconnect it immediately from the AC Supply and Battery and
take it to a qualified service.
• To avoid any risk of electrical choc when cleaning it, disconnect it from the AC
Supply and Battery. Do not use any liquid or chemical product. The unit has dan
gerous voltages level even when turned off or disconnected from AC Supply.
Before charging
• When the battery must be taken out off the vehicle, disconnect first the ground
pole. Make sure that all equipment in the vehicle are turned off to avoid sparks.
• Battery pole cleaning. CAUTION: Corroded battery terminals can contain corrosive
materials. So, be careful to not leave these materials reach your eyes.
• Fill up each cell with distilled water up to the limit indicated by the manufacturer.
That helps to avoid undesired gases from the battery. For batteries without cell
caps follow the instructions of its manufacturer.
• Follow carefully all instructions of the battery manufacturer e.g. open or closing the
cells while charging as well the admissible charging current.
• Be sure that the operating voltage of the battery matches the output voltage of the
charger.
• Place the charger as far as possible from the battery when in changing operation.
• Guaranty ventilated place around the charger in operation.
• The charger must never be placed over the battery and vice-versa. Gases from the
battery can damage the internal charger components.
Battery connection
• Before plugging in/out the clamps to the battery the charger must be disconnected
from the AC supply. Don't let the clamps touch each other
CAUTION: Sparks close too the battery can cause explosion. It can be avoided by
the following instructions:
