Possible Cause
• Cord not connected to
the power source
• Trigger switch not
operational
• Extension cord not
connected to the plug
• Extension cord or power
cable damaged
• Worn motor brushes
• Chain tension too tight
• Oil tank empty
• Chain installed backwards
• Chain tension too tight
• Guide bar and chain may
be damaged
• Blunt saw chain
• Incorrect chain tension
• Saw chain fitted incorrectly

Remedy
• Make sure that the cord is connected to a
power source
• Check safety lock button is fully depressed prior
to engaging the trigger switch
• Check extension cord is fully connected to
the tool
• Repair or replace the damaged cord
• Motor brushes must be replaced
• Adjust chain tension
• Fill tank with chain oil
• Reverse chain so that cutters face the right direction
• Adjust chain tension
• Replace the chain and bar with the identical
replacement part
• Sharpen or replace the saw chain
• Check chain tension
• Check saw chain orientation
• Check chain tension
• Check chain tension
