5. Ordinary maintenance
5.1
Scheduled maintenance
To ensure indexer high efficiency, every 2000 hours duty and while the unit is not running, it is
recommended that the user checks the lube oil level (oil level check does not apply in case of indexers
lubricated by means of grease).
In addition, every 10000 hours duty and always while the unit is not running, it is recommended that
the user checks all parts subject to wearing and replaces the lube oil (oil replacement does not apply in
case of indexers lubricated by means of grease).

Repair
Repair is necessary in case one or more work stations show slacks.
Generally, the presence of slacks means that rollers are damaged due to mechanism overloading or
jamming.
To replace rollers operate as follows:
For all types of indexers:
- rotate the input drive shaft (12) to half dwell angle (in case of standard tables, key slots are
upwards);
- mark the position of both indexing shaft eccentric bushings (18).
- For IP-40, IP-65, IP-80, IP-100, IP-105 and IP-130 indexers, operate as follows:
- screw out the 6 screws (71) fastering the two half casing and the two lok screws (77) of the eccentric
bushings;
- separate the two half casings (2) and (3).
For all type of indexers, operate as follows:
- before drawing out the output drive shaft (9), mark its position with respect to the cam (4) so thet
afterwards it can be reassembled more easily;
- remove the whole indexing shaft (9);
- draw out the eccentric bushings and the bearings (33);
- screw out the safety screws (G) securing the pins of the rollers;
- draw out the pin (88) and remove the roller (87);
- replace damaged followers and rollers and check that index plate pinholes have kept their roundness
and dimensional accuracy. Otherwise, the whole index plate must be also replaced;
- reassemble by following the reverse order; in particular clean well the supporting surfaces of the two
half casings (2) and (3) and spread them with a thin layer of sealing paste.
