DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Description
A sterile SENSORCAP Disposable Tip Cover is placed on the SENSORTIP of the PASCAL® Dynamic Contour Tonometer
in order to prevent contamination and infection. The SENSORCAP Applicator ("APPLIPACK") serves as a packaging
and as a tool for fitting a SENSORCAP over the SENSORTIP before using it.
SENSORCAPS are single-use and must be discarded after use.
Pay attention to the expiration date of the SENSORCAP. It is printed on the left of the package as well as on each
individual SENSORCAP.
Instruction for use
1. Open one sterile APPLIPACK by lifting the seal.
2. Please make sure that the SENSORTIP is free of dust and particles. For cleaning instructions of the SENSORTIP
please consult your Operating Manual.
3. Hold the PASCAL® SENSORTIP in one hand and the APPLIPACK tool in the other, then insert tip into tool. Make
sure you insert the tip collinear with the tool, and do not twist the two pieces against each other.
4. Push tip into the tool quite forcefully, until it goes no further. This will cause the rubber ball inside the tool to
push the cover membrane into the concave shape of the tip surface, and will cause the membrane to adhere
to the tip surface.
5. Keep SENSORTIP pushed into tool for 1 second then pull the tip and APPLIPACK tool apart, without twisting.
6. Carefully verify proper positioning of SENSORCAP over the tip. For this purpose, it is recommended to hold the
tip into the optical path of the slit lamp microscope, at an angle toward the incipient light for good visibility
of the concave tip surface. No air bubbles or particles should be visible underneath the SENSORCAP, and its
membrane should fit snugly against the curved contact surface of the tip. The surface should appear dark and
shiny.
7. Insert tip into the tip holder of your PASCAL® Tonometer and take your measurement.
