IceBand® is a cold therapy bandage intended for use after orthopedic surgery and
during the rehabilitation period after. IceBand® can also be used in case of acute
injury while waiting for medical attention.
Cooling and compression in combination relieves pain and reduces swelling.
Reading this Users' Manual will enable you to obtain the maximum therapeutic
effect.
IceBand® should be applied without delay after surgery and can also be used after
physical therapy and rehabilitation.
IceBand® can facilitate postoperative rehabilitation and shorten your recovery.
Cooling the shoulder has an anti-inflammatory effect that can reduce swelling and
pain.
IceBand® can also be used to help reduce pain and swelling following an acute
injury, while you are awaiting medical attention.
IceBand® Includes 1 shoulder wrap and 2 sets of 2 cooling elements.
The cooling agent is pure water without any additives, using PCE™ technology.

● Put the cooling elements in a freezer (within approx. 3 hours the water will
have frozen to ice).
● Insert one cooling element in each of the two pockets of the shoulder wrap and
apply the wrap to your shoulder. Keep the remaining cooling elements in the
freezer and use these as replacements when the first two have melted.
● Tighten the Velcro fastenings securely to provide desired compression.
● Allow the IceBand® to work for 45-60 minutes for maximum effect. We recom-
mend using IceBand for repeated intervals of approx. 45-60 minutes each time.
After the 45-60 minutes, take off the IceBand for at least one hour. This ena-
bles the operated area to "rest". Repeat the process several times.
● The IceBand® should be removed when the ice has all melted and the cooling
effect has come to an end.
● Repeat the treatment several times postoperatively and afther physical therapy
and rehablilitation sessions as instructed by your healthcare professional.
CAUTION! The cooling elements shall never be applied directly to the skin. Only to
be used inside the wrap. Patients' skin should be observed frequently due to indivi-
dual sensitivity and susceptibility to cool.
Contact your physician if the treatments lead to more pain or if you are uncertain
about any aspect of its use. Cooling products shall be handled with care and only
be used in accordance with instructions from a physician.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: IceBand® should not be used if you suffer from cold
allergy, Raynauds phenomenon or cryoglobulinaemia. If you are uncertain please
ask your physician.
For single patient use only
Each IceBand® can be used approximately 30 times.
CLEANING: The cooling elements can be disinfected using a surface disinfectant
and can be washed in a dishwasher at max. 65 degrees Celsius / 150 Fahrenheit.
The fabric shall not be washed.
DISPOSAL: Consists of water, polyethylene, and polypropylene and can be
exposed of as normal household waste. When incinerated it will turn into CO 2
and water.
