the detection indicator is backlit red and a sound is emitted.
In order to precisely locate the metal element, press and hold the „ZOOM" button, and then move the detec-
tor thrice above the detected metal element using the usual method. The „ZOOM" indicator and a separate
precise measurement indicator will be displayed. Observe the indication: the highest amplitude will be noted
when the sensor of the detector is over the centre of the metal element.
ATTENTION! In case very small elements or elements deeply hidden are to be detected, the traditional
detection method may fail. In such situations it is necessary to apply the precise method.
In case ferromagnetic metal elements are detected, the ferromagnetic metal detection indicator will be dis-
played. In case diamagnetic metal elements are detected, the diamagnetic metal detection indicator will be
displayed.
ATTENTION! In case of a low detection signal, it may be impossible to determine the kind of metal.
In case of detection of densely distributed metal elements such as grids or wire-mesh reinforcement the
precise method must be applied. In such cases the ferromagnetic metal indicator will be displayed over the
metal element, and the diamagnetic metal indicator will be between the elements.
Detection of wooden elements
Press the wood detection button, after which the symbol from the button and the „ZOOM" button will be
displayed. Put the detector on the surface, and then press and hold the „ZOOM" button. The automatic cali-
bration indicator will be displayed and the detection indicator will be backlit green. The "ZOOM" indicator will
disappear. Holding the „ZOOM" button move the detector along the surface being examined.
ATTENTION! While moving the detector, it must not separate from the surface being examined. All the legs
of the detector must be in contact with the surface.
In case wooden elements are detected, the indication amplitude of the measurement indicator will increase.
Move the detector several Times over the detection area, which will permit to increase the precision of detec-
tion. Where the measurement indicator indicates the highest value, the metal element lies precisely below
the sensor of the detector. In case a wooden element is detected, the detection indicator is backlit red and
a sound is emitted.
ATTENTION! In case of accidental placement of the detector immediately over a wooden element, the meas-
urement indicator and an arrow below the „ZOOM" indicator will be displayed, and the detection indicator will
be backlit red. In such a case the detector must be placed in another area of the surface under scrutiny, and
then the detection procedure must be realised anew.
ATTENTION! While detecting wooden elements metal elements may be detected, which lay at the depth of
25 to 50 mm. In such a case the detector should be switched to the metal detection mode and the operator
must check if there are any metal elements.
Detection live conductors
The detector may indicate the location of 50 or 60 Hz AC current live conductors. Other conductors may be
detected simply as metal elements.
The live conductor indicator may be displayed both during detection of metal elements and wooden elements.
In case the indicator is displayed, the device should be moved several Times over the area where there may
lay a live conductor. Observe the amplitude of the indicator. Where the indication is highest the live conductor
lies. In case a live conductor is detected the detection indicator is backlit red and a sound is emitted.
Live conductors are easier to detect if they are actually conducting current, so it is recommended to turn all
the electric devices on.
ATTENTION! In certain cases, for example if conductors are placed behind a metal surface or a wet surface,
it is not possible to detect them precisely. In such cases apply the metal detection mode.
ATTENTION! In case of screened conductors, detection of live conductors may not be effective. Such con-
ductors as wire coil or woven conductors will not be detected.
Calibration of the detector
If the measurement indicator shows an amplitude even if there are no metal elements within the range of the
detector, the detector must be calibrated manually. In order to do so all metal elements must be removed
from the range of the detector, including bracelets, and the detector must be lifted and held in the air. While
the detector is turned off, press simultaneously and hold the switch and the wood detection button. Release
the buttons only when the detection indicator has been backlit green and red at the same time. If the calibra-
tion process has been concluded correctly, the detector will activate again in a couple of minutes and will be
ready for operation.
ATTENTION! If the confirmation of automatic calibration is pulsating for a long time or does not appear at all,
do not operate the detector, due to imprecise results. In such cases the detector must be sent for calibration
at the service workshop of the manufacturer.
Deactivation of the sound alarm
The sound alarm may be deactivated. In order to do so, when the detector is turned off, press the metal and
wood detection buttons simultaneously. The sound alarm deactivation symbol will be displayed. Activation of
the sound alarm is carried out identically.
Maintenance of the detector
The detector must be cleaned with a clean and dry cloth. Do not apply cleansing agents. Do not stick any
labels to the detector, particularly those containing metals. It would affect the operation of the detector. Do
not remove the lining of the feet of the device. In case they are worn out or damaged, they must be replaced.
Before new lining is applied, the old one must be removed completely.
