Application
Can be used in conjunction with: Pressurised storage
heaters, thermally and hydraulically controlled
instantaneous heaters. Operation with low-pressure
displacement water heaters is not possible!
Specifications
• Flow pressure min. 0.5 bar / recommended 1 - 5 bar
• Operating pressure
• Test pressure
If static pressure is greater than 5 bar, fit pressure
reducer.
Avoid major pressure differences between cold and
hot water supply.
• Flow rate at 3 bar flow pressure:
32 398
32 401, 32 402, 32 403, 32 404
• Temperature
Hot water inlet
Recommended
Scalding protection possible by fitting a temperature
limiter (see replacement parts fold-out page II,
ref. No. 46 308)
• Water connection
Installation
Flush pipes thoroughly!
Wall mounting
Install S-unions and fit mixer, for required
dimensions, see fold-out page I, Fig. [1].
1. Install the S-unions and sleeve, preassembled with
the escutcheon.
2. Screw-mount the mixer and check connections for
leakage.
3. Push the sleeve with escutcheon onto the union nut.
4. Screw the escutcheon flush against the wall.
Pillar mounting
Fit pillar unions and screw-mount the mixer, see
Fig. [2].
Refer to the dimensional drawing on fold-out page I.
The cold-water supply must be connected on the right
and the hot-water supply on the left.
The projection can be increased by 30mm with an
extension, (see replacement parts fold-out page I,
ref. No. 46 238).
Open cold and hot-water supply and check
connections for leakage!
Check fitting for correct operation, see Fig. [3].
Operation of automatic diverter (A), see Fig. [4].
Pulling the lever will release water delivery.
Water will emerge from the bath spout first.
Pull diverter knob
Press diverter knob
Flow is diverted automatically from shower outlet to
bath spout when the mixer is turned off.
max. 10 bar
16 bar
Flow rate limiter
This mixer is fitted with a flow rate limiter, permitting an
infinitely individual variable reduction in the flow rate.
The highest possible flow rate is set by the factory
before despatch.
The use of flow rate limiters in combination with
hydraulic instantaneous water heaters is not
approx. 17 l/min
recommended.
approx. 20 l/min
For commissioning see "replacing the cartridge"
point 1 to 3, Fig. [5] and [7].
max. 80 °C
Maintenance
(energy saving) 60 °C
Inspect and clean all parts, replace as necessary and
grease with Grohe special grease (order no. 18 012).
Shut off cold and hot water supply!
cold - right
I. Replacing the cartridge, see Fig. [5].
hot - left
1. Lever out plug (B).
2. Remove set screw (C) using a 3mm socket spanner
and pull off lever (D).
3. Unscrew cap (E).
4. Remove screws (F) and detach complete
cartridge (G).
5. Change complete cartridge (G).
Assemble in reverse order.
Observe the correct installation position!
Make sure that the cartridge seals engage in the
grooves on the housing. Fit screws (F) and tighten
evenly and alternately.
II. Diverter, see Fig. [6].
1. Lever off cap (H).
2. Unscrew nut (J).
3. Pull off diverter knob (K) and cap (L).
4. Unscrew diverter (M).
III.Remove non-return valve (N), see Fig. [6].
IV.Unscrew and clean aerator (13 927), see fold-out
page II.
Assemble in reverse order.
Replacement parts, see fold-out page II ( * = special
accessories).
