What are the advantages
of measuring body temperature at the ear?
The hypothalamus, which is the part of the brain that regulates
body temperature, is very close to the eardrum. Ear thermometers,
unlike oral, rectal, or underarm thermometers, can detect real-time
changes in body temperature. Measuring temperature at the ear is
also faster and less intrusive than other methods.
How does the Instant ear Thermometer work?
The lens captures energy emitted from the eardrum and
surrounding tissue and the thermometer converts this energy into
a temperature reading.
Is the thermometer dangerous or harmful?
Not at all. The thermometer only receives heat and infrared
energy; it does not radiate or emit anything.
Is the thermometer
safe for children and infants?
Absolutely. The probe can be fully inserted into children's and
infants' ears. The probe is too short to reach the eardrum, and the
ear canal is smaller than the thermometer's probe, so it cannot
reach any sensitive tissues or structures in the ear. Be sure to
follow the instructions, inserting the probe snugly but stopping
when resistance is felt.
