Manufacturer, address
The starting and operating instructions are applicable to the electric
submersible waste water pumps specified on the cover. The pumps are
intended for pumping waste water, untreated or clean water, and slurries.
DANGER!
The pump must not be used in an explosive or flammable
environment or for pumping flammable liquids.
Limitations
Immersion depth: up to 20 m (65 ft).
Liquid temperature: up to 40°C (105°F).

K107F-VA4368 - 42 kW
F = For discharge bracket
T = Dry installation
P = Transportable
Motor
3-phase squirrel-cage induction motor for 50 or 60 Hz. Degree of protection
IP 68.
Cooling system.
Pumps intended for dry installation are equipped with an internal cooling
system designed to dissipate the heat generated in the motor. As a result,
the motor can be used up to its nominal rating even when the pump is
installed dry.
If necessary, transportable pumps and pumps designed for connection to a
discharge bracket can also be provided with an internal cooling system.
The cooling system consists of a circulation pump impeller which is
mounted on the motor shaft between the primary and secondary seals and
circulates the cooling water through passages to the cooling jacket
surrounding the motor and then back to the lower seal housing in which the
cooling water is cooled by the pumped medium.
To provide a reliable barrier which prevents the cooling water from
penetrating up into the motor, an upper sealing compartment is provided
which can either be open to atmosphere, or else be filled with oil and
plugged.
The variant which is open to atmosphere offers more reliable operation with
simple monitoring and is preferable if there is no risk of flooding.
A mixture of water and glycol is used as the cooling medium.

Rated current
The pumps conform to the EU machine directive. See rating plate.
The manufacturer guarantees that a new pump will not emit airborne noise
in excess of 70 dB(A) during normal operation (when submerged or half-
submerged). The corresponding value for the pump in a dry installation is a
maximum of 75 dB(A).
CAUTION!
The pump must not be run if it has been partially
dismantled.
Motor protection
The stator is equipped with built-in temperature sensors. The temperature
sensors are connected in series and 5open at 135°C (257°F).
Sealing monitor.
The pump is equipped with a moisture sensor which is located in the lower
end wall of the motor compartment, so that moisture indication is obtained
both for the motor compartment and for the upper sealing compartment
(may be open to atmosphere or oil-filled). The sensor is connected to a
relay which will close the circuit in the event of a drop in resistance.
The normal alarm level is 10 - 30 ohm (max. voltage of 24 V at 50 - 60 Hz).
The alarm should be connected as a warning.
In the event of an alarm, the oil should be checked and changed before
any other major measures are taken, since the alarm level may be difficult
to adjust and spurious alarms may occur.
Electric cable
8 m ( 25 ft) of HO7RN-F or equivalent cable. If the cable is longer, the
voltage drop must be taken into account.
For dimensions, see the table on page 50 (at the end of the manual). Note
that the pumps can be supplied with different cables and for different
connection methods. See also under the heading "Electrical connections".
