Note:
For more detailed instructions, refer to the Analyzer's Operation
and Maintenance Manual, downloadable from www.sieversinstruments.com.
Step 1: Unpack and Inspect the Analyzer
Step 2: Complete the Identification Records
Complete page 3 of the Operation and Maintenance Manual.
Step 3: Select a Location
Place the Analyzer away from direct sunlight and avoid temperatures
greater than 40 °C (104 °F) or lower than 10 °C (50 °F).
Mount the On-Line TOC Analyzer on a wall or a support stand
with the screen at eye level (or set it on a workbench that can
support its weight). Select a stand or bench, and mounting bolts,
to support four times the weight of the instrument [total = 64.8 kg
(142.40 lb)]. Allow a minimum of 5 cm (2 in.) clearance between
the back of the Analyzer and the wall and 30.5 cm (12.0 in.) on
the sides, top, and bottom.
Place the Portable or Laboratory TOC Analyzer on a clean
surface that can accommodate the Analyzer's dimensions and
weight (See the Specification Summary).
Step 4: Install the Reagent Cartridges
Note:

other type with the red-and-green button valve,
refer to the Analyzer's Operation & Maintenance
Manual.
Reagent Cartridge
1. Ensure power is OFF and exercise ESD protection.
2. Open the Analyzer door (On-Line) or remove the right side
panel (Laboratory and Portable).
Stabilize the Analyzer with one hand on the top panel
(Laboratory Analyzer) or handle (Portable Analyzer). Grasp
the edge of the right side panel from the back of the Analyzer.
Pull the entire panel away from the Analyzer. (The panel is
attached to the Analyzer by magnets.)
3. Remove the reagent tray (Portable and Laboratory models) or
remove the reagent tray cover (On-Line model).
4. Pull the yellow vent sticker off the bottom of the Acid cartridge.
5. With the cartridge upright, remove the containment tape from
the inlet nozzle and remove the plug.
6. Locate the Acid supply line, attach it to the top of the Acid
reagent cartridge, and tighten finger tight.
7. Place the Acid cartridge in the back compartment of the
reagent tray, ensuring that the nozzle-end points out through
the cutout.

8. Repeat steps 4-7 for the Oxidizer cartridge.
9. For Portable or Lab models, place the reagent tray onto the
unit floor. For On-Line models, carefully replace the cover.

Step 5: Install the DI Water System
1. Assemble the water bottle and insert the fill fitting into the
Prime port.
2. Fill the DI reservoir with
deionized water. (Do not
overfill. Ensure that the
reservoir float is just below
the top of the window).

3. Install the resin cartridge into the
PRIME position to ready for priming
in Step 11.
Step 6: Install I/O Control Wiring
(On-Line and Portable Only)
Refer a qualified electrician to the Analyzer's Operation and
Maintenance Manual for installing I/O wiring, alarms, and remote
start binary input.
Step 7: Install Power
Connect the power cord to Laboratory and Portable Analyzers.
