The individual components are removed and refitted according to the instructions in the
ŠKODA Repair Manual.
Remove the following components:
- Lower A-pillar trim (on the left-hand side of the vehicle),
- Storage compartment on the driver's side (on left-hand drive vehicles),
- Storage compartment on the passenger's side (on right-hand drive vehicles) and MIB,

- Interior sill trim (on the left-hand side of the vehicle),
- Loosen the retaining bracket and BCM control unit from the anchoring element.

- The connection diagram for the tow bar's wiring harness in the vehicle.
- Lay the whole wiring harness for the tow bar through the vehicle as shown in the
figures. Align the wiring and then connect and secure it according to the appropriate
instructions in the text.

- The connection and fitting diagram for the wiring harness for the tow bar in the luggage
compartment.
- The connection for the brown wire with loop to the earth screw (earth connection).
Note. Secure the wiring harness for the tow bar in the luggage com-
partment and on the wheel covers to the vehicle's own electrical
installation using cable ties (K) (see arrows) at distances of approx.
every 15 cm. Tighten the earth screw nuts to 9 Nm (see details).

- Plug the plug on the electrical installation for the tow bar (A) into the control unit.
- To prevent damage, use suitable abrasion-resistant tape (see arrow) to wrap up the wire for
the electrical installation for the tow bar (A) where it comes into contact with the ridge on
the wheel cover.
- Then guide the tow bar's wiring harness in parallel to the vehicle's existing electrical instal-
lation until it reaches the BCM control unit and the retaining bracket below the console.

- Use cable ties (K) to secure the tow bar's wiring harness, from the luggage compartment
at distances of approx. 15 cm, along the entire length of the vehicle's existing electrical
installation.
Note. Before securing the wiring harness in this way, we recommend
using abrasion-resistant tape to wrap up the wiring harness where it
comes into contact with the edge (ridge) on the body.
- 7, 8, 9, 10 -
Diagram of the wiring harness' routing on left- and right-hand drive vehicles in the front
area of the vehicle below the console (fig. 9, 10). After pulling the wires through, remove
all of the wires from the vehicle's own existing wiring harness using the tool from the
cutter set and connect this to the tow bar's wiring harness as follows.
