Maintenance
Always disconnect the power before carrying out maintenance!
Only use original Mirka spare parts!
Replacing the backing pad
AIROS 350, 550, 650 and AIROP 312
1.
Insert the pad wrench between the backing pad and brake seal
to hold the spindle nut.
Turn the backing pad counterclockwise to remove it.

Fit and tighten the new backing pad with washers.

Remove the pad wrench.
AIOS 353
The backing pad is fixed with 4 screws (A).

Turn the tool upside down.
2.
Remove the 4 screws.
Remove the backing pad.

Fit the new pad.

Fit the 4 screws and tighten them.
AIOS 130 & AIROS 150
Hold the spindle with fingers.

Turn the backing pad counterclockwise to remove it.
3.
Fit and tighten the new backing pad.
Replacing the brake seal
Note! This function is only applicable for AIROS 350, 550 and 650.
NOTE! Too much vacuum in your dust extraction system may cause the brake seal to malfunction.
Remove the backing pad as described above.

Pull the old brake seal out of its groove.

Fit the new brake seal in the groove.

Fit the backing pad as described above.
Check the brake seal function. By changing the number of washers between the spindle and backing pad, the

effect of the brake seal can be adjusted.
Replacing the spindle bearing
Note! This function is only applicable for AIROS 350, 550, 650 and AIROP 312.
Remove the backing pad.

Remove the retaining ring. This is done by using a small flathead screwdriver to pry the retaining ring out of its
groove, then using a pair of pliers to pull the retaining ring out. The retaining ring is then discarded.

Grasp the spindle with pliers and pull it out of the bearing package. Pulling the bearing will create a partial vacuum
in the bearing chamber, which will result in some resistance. This pressure difference will gradually equalise. Note:
