INSTALLATION
1. Check that the power cable has not been tampered with or damaged.
2. If the bottom of the pond is sandy or muddy, suspend the pump from a rope or chain or place it on
a suitable base to prevent its intake from clogging.
3. For in-line applications:
• Remove the inlet screen.
• Attach piping directly to the 1-1/2" MNPT inlet threads.
• A pre-filter screen is recommended.
IMPORTANT: The pump must be completely submerged, even if installing in-line.
4. Sink the pump with its discharge facing up in order to remove the air from the pump.
5. Make sure the pump is installed blow the water-level so it does not run dry.
6. Connect the discharge piping.
7. Start the pump by plugging it into a properly grounded receptacle. There is not a power switch.
IMPORTANT: Do not let the unit freeze as it may destroy the unit.
MAINTENANCE
Clean the pump periodically or when a decrease in flow is noted and at the end of the season. Do not
leave the pump out in freezing temperatures.
1. Disconnect the power.
2. Remove the pump from the water.
3. Drain the pump.
4. Remove the screen from the pump body.
5. Carefully clean any debris from the impeller and pump housing.
6. Rinse the unit with fresh water.
7. Replace the screen.
8. To store the pump:
• Place the pump in a bucket of water to keep the seals from drying out.
• Run the pump once a week in the bucket to keep the seals from sticking together.

Probable Causes
Corrective Action
Connect pump to a dedicated GFCI circuit.
Ensure that the inlet of the pump is below the water surface. If
used in-line, the entire pump must be below the water surface.
Remove debris blocking the intake screen or impeller.
Select a larger capacity pump.
Remove debris blocking the discharge.
Check to see that no debris is clogging the suction port.
