• Wear hearing protection during prolonged use.
• Wear a dust mask when operating in a dusty
environment.
• Before sanding, make sure that any nails, screws
or other metal objects protruding from the
workpiece have been removed.
• Always inspect walls and ceilings before drilling
and screwing to avoid damage to potentially
concealed power cables and pipes.
• Use screw clamps or other suitable clamping
devices to fix the workpiece firmly to the surface
and to prevent it from slipping.
• Only use attachments that are supplied for the
Hammersmith MultiTool.
• Do not use broken, damaged or worn accessories
or attachments. Only use attachments that are in
good working condition.
• Always start the device in a suitable space,
and allow it to reach the optimum speed before
introducing it to the workpiece.
• Always remove the battery pack from the device
before changing attachments.
• Keep your hands out of the work area, and always
cut away from yourself and other people.
Insertion and removal of the saw blade
1. Fix the tool in place by moving the direction
switch to the middle position.
2. To insert the saw blade, push the lever to the left
and hold it in this position.
3. Insert the saw blade into the saw blade clamp.
Ensure that the teeth face forward.
4. Release the lever.
5. To remove the saw blade, push the lever to
the right and pull the saw blade away from the
holder.
6. Always use a saw blade suited to the respective
workpiece and the desired type of cut.
7. If necessary, drill a hole in the vicinity of where
the cutting process will be started.

There is no need to cut a hole when sawing
wooden workpieces:
1. Mark the desired starting point.
2. Fold the tool forward and place the rounded
front edge of the saw shoe onto the workpiece.
3. Switch on the tool and slowly bring the saw
blade into contact with the workpiece at the
desired starting point.
Cutting sheet metal:
1. Clamp a piece of plywood or soft wood to the rear side
of the workpiece and saw through both materials in
order to achieve a clean cut.
2. Do not use force to aid the saw blade in penetrating
the workpiece. Note that the process of sawing sheet
metal usually longer than for thick pieces of wood.
3. Apply a thin film of oil along the cutting line before
you start sawing.
4. To cut, turn on the tool and slide it down until the saw
blade is situated just above the entry point. Lower
the rear part of the saw shoe against the workpiece,
while alternating regular pressure between it and the
saw shoe. With the saw shoe resting directly on the
workpiece, insert the saw blade into the workpiece.
Cutting laminates:
1. Cut thin laminate with the rear side facing upwards,
as chipping when sawing workpieces usually occurs
on the side facing the saw shoe.
2. To get a clean cut, we recommend sandwiching the
laminate material between pieces of plywood or
hardboard on both sides, and sawing through the
combination of materials.
