open position using a clamp or tie.
If the saw is accidentally dropped, the lower
protective cover may bend. Pull back the lower
protective cover using the handle provided and
make sure that it moves freely and does not touch
the saw blade.
B. The lower cover can be pulled back manually. This
may only be done for special cuts such as plunge
cuts and drift cuts.
Lift the lower protective cover on the handle
provided. As soon as the saw blade penetrates the
workpiece, the protective cover must be released
again.
C. Always ensure that the lower protective cover
surrounds the saw blade before placing the saw
on the workbench or floor.
An unprotected, running saw blade triggers a
backward movement of the saw, which will cut
everything in its path. Observe the period from
switching off the saw blade until it comes to a
standstill.
D. Check the operation of the lower safety
spring. If the guard and spring are not working
properly, they must be serviced before use. The
lower guard may be sluggish due to damaged
parts, resinous deposits, or a build-up of debris.
Intended use
This device is designed to make longitudinal and
cross cuts in wood with a straight cutting course
when the support is fixed.
Changing the saw blade
Only use saw blades whose maximum permissible
speed is greater than the no-load speed of your
power tool.
1. Secure the motor block by setting the direction
of rotation switch to the middle position.
2. Remove the circular saw attachment from the
motor block (see main manual Hammersmith
MultiTool) and wear work gloves when changing
the saw blade to avoid injury.
3. Press the saw blade lock button and, using a
standard Allen key (hexagon spanner), loosen
the blade fixing screw clockwise.
WARNING: Never press the locking button when
the circular saw is in operation. This could cause
injury.
4. With the protective cover open, remove the old
saw blade downwards from the machine.
5. Now insert the new saw blade (when inserting
it, pay attention to the direction of insertion and
the teeth of the cutting blade) and the fastening
screw and hand-tighten the fastening screw
anticlockwise using the Allen key.

Using the dust extraction system
1. Attach a suitable suction hose with a diameter of 9
mm (port not included in the delivery contents) to
the dust pipe (dust suction connection).
2. Then connect the suction hose to a vacuum cleaner.
The vacuum cleaner must be suitable for the
material to be worked on. Use a special vacuum
cleaner when extracting dust that is particularly
hazardous to health, carcinogenic or dry.
The extraction hose must not be fitted without an
external extraction system connected. The extraction
duct may otherwise become blocked. Do not connect
a dust bag directly to the dust pipe. The extraction
system may otherwise become blocked. To ensure
optimum extraction, the extraction hose must be
cleaned regularly.
Maintenance and cleaning
Remove the attachment from the motor block before
any work on the power tool (e.g. maintenance, tool
change, etc.) and when transporting and storing it.
The saw blade guard must always be able to move
freely and close automatically. Therefore, always keep
the area around the protective cover clean. Remove
dust and chips using a dry cloth and a brush. Do not
use chemical cleaning agents as they can damage
the outer housing. Uncoated saw blades can be
protected from corrosion by a thin layer of acid-free
oil. However, remove the oil again before sawing
because otherwise wood can become stained. Resin
or glue residues on the saw blade affect the cutting
quality. Therefore, clean saw blades immediately after
use. The thread of the fixing screw can be oiled with
machine oil from time to time.
