8.4 Disassembly

Follow the assembly procedure backwards.

9. BEFORE EVERY USE

• Always check for wear and tear of moving mechanical parts, in order to ensure that the
wheelchair can be used in total safety for both people and property.
• Check that the device has been assembled correctly and particularly that the wheels and
all components and accessories* (optional) have been inserted properly.
• Check correct functioning of the brake on the wheels.

10. USAGE WARNING

• The fixed frame wheelchair is for indoor use only; it cannot be used as a seat in motor vehicles;
• Always use the rear handle only to push the rigid frame wheelchair,
Never push using any other support;
• Before moving on an inclined surface make sure of your abilities and limitations.
Consult movement techniques with qualified personnel;
• However, assistance is recommended for surfaces with a slope greater than 10%. If it is
necessary to stop on a sloped surface, avoid sudden movements;
• If two people are lifting the rigid-frame wheelchair the wheelchair in places that are dan
gerous for the patient, such as footrests and armrests, and use only the frame
• It is advisable to store the product away from heat sources, as some parts such as the back
and seat upholstery and armrests, if exposed to sunlight, could reach temperatures that
could cause skin damage.
• Make sure the tray has not been moved or removed;
• Do not lean on the footrests to sit or get out of the wheelchair;
• Do not lean out of the wheelchair to pick up objects on furniture or other surfaces;
• Avoid sitting on the edge to prevent tipping it over.

10.1 Brakes

Lock the wheels of the chair before going up, down, stretching forward. The brakes are applied
by pressing the levers on the sides of the rear wheels.

10.2 Wheels

Wheels should be periodically checked and lubricated as necessary.

11. HOW TO USE

WARNING!
• Getting into and out of a fixed frame wheelchair on your own can be potentially
risky: do so only if you are physically able and with care.
• Do not lean on removable parts, but rather on the seat frame. DO NOT SHIFT
YOUR WEIGHT ONTO THE FOOTPLATE WHEN GETTING INTO OR OUT OF THE
FIXED FRAME WHEELCHAIR, AS IT COULD TIP OVER!!!

11.1 Getting into the fixed frame wheelchair

1. Get as close as possible to the chair, in a manner that it is positioned alongside you
2. Lock the brakes on the front wheels. Getting into the fixed frame wheelchair is easier if the
armrest is removed on the side where this operation is being performed.
3. Rest your weight on the frame structure using your arms and slowly lower yourself into the chair

11.2 Getting out of the fixed frame wheelchair

1. Get as close as possible to the side of another seat
2. Lock the brakes on the front wheels. Getting out of the fixed frame wheelchair is easier
