12. MAINTENANCE

The products in the MOPEDIA range by Moretti have been carefully checked and CE marked
when placed on sale.
For patient and doctor safety, have the product checked at least every two years by the
manufacturer or by an authorised laboratory to verify its suitability for use. Use only original
replacement parts and accessories for repairs.
• It is extremely important to check the device before using it for the first time. In particular,
check that all the screws and bolts are properly tightened.
• The mechanical parts of the device can move correctly (backrest, leg rest, armrests, wheels, etc.).
• Check that the wheel brakes are working properly.
• Check the mechanical parts (hinges and pins) once a month and lubricate them with a drop
of oil to ensure they slide easily and to avoid wear.
The fixed frame wheelchairs in the MOPEDIA range by MORETTI only need a few simple and
periodic maintenance operations. The periodic checks to carry out are listed below:

13. CLEANING AND DISINFECTION

13.1 Cleaning

Only use a damp cloth to clean the fixed frame wheelchair and dry it with a clean and dry cloth,
or use warm water and mild soap.
WARNING!
• Do not use abrasive substances, acids, alcohol, chlorine-based detergents,
disinfects and acetone, as these substances will scratch the plastic parts and
cause the metal surfaces to rust.
• The manufacture will not be responsible for damage caused by use of materials
that could damage the surface of the product or by use of corrosive chemical
products during cleaning.

13.2 Disinfection

Use a mild disinfectant cleaner if you need to disinfect the device.
WARNING!
Sanitising products are corrosive. Avoid contact with the eyes and skin. Wear
protective clothing, gloves, protective goggles and safety shoes. In the case
of accidental contact, wash the part concerned with plenty of warm water and seek
medical advice immediately.
