As for installation, insert the stopper straight into one
of the openings aligning the locking slot in the stopper
with the guide projection on the opening until it locks in
place.

Dust bag
Optional accessory
Attach the dust bag onto one of the discharge openings
and push firmly as far as it will go. Make sure the dust
bag is securely placed over the tapered opening so as
not to come off during operation.

When the dust bag is about half full, remove the dust
bag from the tool and pull the fastener out. Empty the
dust bag. Tap the dust bag lightly to remove particles
adhering inside, which might hamper further collection.

NOTE: If you connect a Makita vacuum cleaner to
this tool, more efficient and cleaner operations can be
performed.
Connecting a vacuum cleaner
When you wish to perform clean planing operation,
connect a Makita vacuum cleaner to your tool. Connect
a hose of the vacuum cleaner to one of the discharge
openings as shown in the figure.

Elbow
Optional accessory
Use a dust extractor elbow to condense extraction air
flow at preferred angles for cleaner working environ-
ment. Attach the elbow into one of the discharge open-
ings and push firmly as far as it will go.
