SAFE OPERATION

WARNING. Read all instructions before operating this
product and save this manual. When using electric
tools, basic safety precautions, including the following,
should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire,
electric shock, and personal injury:

PERSONAL PROTECTION:

Always wear ANSI Z87.1 approved eye
protection or face shield.
Always wear NIOSH approved dusk mask or
respirator.
Always use proper gloves, ear protection, and
protective clothing.
Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or
jewelry; they can be caught in moving parts.
Rubber gloves and non-skid footwear are
recommended when working outdoors. Wear
protective hair covering to contain long hair.
1. Keep work area clean. Cluttered areas and
benches invite injuries.
2. Consider work area environment. Do not expose
power tools to moisture, IE: rain, damp or wet
locations. Keep work area well lit. Do not use
power tools where there is risk to cause fire or
explosion.
3. Guard against electric shock. Avoid body contact
with earthed or grounded surfaces (e.g. pipes,
radiators, ranges, refrigerators).
4. Keep children away. Do not let non-operators
touch the tool or extension cord.
5. Store idle tools. When not in use, tools should
be stored in a dry, high or locked cabinet, out of
reach of children.
6. Do not force the tool. It will do the job better and
safer at the rate for which it was intended.
7. Use the right tool for the job. Do not force light-
duty tools or attachments to do the job of a heavy-
duty tool.
8. Do not use this tool for any purpose it is not
intended for.
9. Only use in a well ventilated area, connect dust
extraction equipment if necessary.
10. Do not abuse the cord. Never carry the tool by
the cord or yank the cord to disconnect it from the
socket.
11. Keep the cord away from heat, oil, chemicals, and
sharp edges.
12. Secure the workpiece, using clamps or a vice as
needed to allow the user to operate the tool with
both hands. Both hands must be used to operate
the tool.
13. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and
balance at all times.
14. Always inspect tool and cord prior to use for
damage. See page 6 for specific tool care
instructions. Maintain tool with care to optimize
better and safer performance.
15. Disconnect tools when not in use, before servicing,
and when changing accessories.
16. Avoid unintentional starting. Do not carry a
plugged-in tool with a finger on the switch. Ensure
switch is off when plugging in.
17. Use approved outdoor extension cords when an
extended reach is required. When tool is used
outdoors, only use extension cords intended for
outdoor use.
18. Stay alert. Watch what you are doing, use
common sense. Do not operate tool when you are
tired or under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or
medications.
19. Check for damaged parts. Do not use a damaged
tool or damaged accessories! Check for alignment
of moving parts, free running of moving parts,
breakage of any part, mounting, and any
other conditions that may affect its operation.
A damaged component may be replaced by
an authorized service center unless otherwise
indicated in this instruction manual. Defective
switches must be replaced by an authorized
service facility. Do not use the tool if the switch
does not turn it on and off.
20. Only have your tool repaired by an authorized
service center. This electric tool is manufactured in
accordance with all relevant safety requirements.
Repairs should only be carried out by an
authorized service center using original parts,
otherwise this may result in considerable danger
to the user.
