Always wear personal protective equipment and clothing.
Wearing a visor or goggles, dust mask, hearing protection,
anti-slip safety shoes, long-sleeved clothing, gloves and
helmet properly reduces the risk of injury.
Anyone coming into the work area must wear personal
protective equipment. Fragments of workpiece may be
projected and cause injury.
Clothing worn during the machine operation must be
adequate, tight and closed, for example, a work boiler suit.
Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep hair, clothing
and gloves away from moving parts.
The following precautions and procedures should also be
followed to avoid accidents:
▪ The rotary accessory speed of the polisher must be at
least equal to the maximum speed stated in the
technical specifications;
▪ When using the polisher, place yourself in a stable
position and always keep your balance. Hold the polisher
firmly to ensure continuous operation and withstand
unexpected situations, such as kickback;
▪ The kickback is a sudden reaction that happens when
the power tool is switched on and the rotary accessory
gets jammed. The rotating accessory kickback forces the
power tool to rotate in the opposite direction to the
rotation of the accessory;
▪ The kickback occurs due to an incorrect use of the power
tool or due to a not proper working procedure which can
cause serious injuries to the user. Loss of control can
result in serious injury. To avoid the kickback, the
following precautions must be considered:
- Always use the auxiliary handle for maximum control
over kickback or torque during acceleration and start-up
of the polisher;
-Place and keep the rotating accessory in the right
position and well tightened;
- Do not place yourself in the area where the power tool
will move, in case of a kickback;
▪ Never place your hands near the rotating accessory.
Keep your hands away from the rotating accessories;
▪ When the rotating accessory gets stuck, switch off the
power tool. If you lose the control, disconnect the power
cord;
▪ To avoid displacements or projections use fixing devices
or a bench vice to ensure a safe performance;
Place/maintain the workpiece in a correct and stable
position;
▪ The fastening thread of the Velcro backing plate has to
be compatible (type and size) with the spindle's thread.
Incorrectly sized accessories cannot be adequately
guarded or controlled;
▪ The accessories must run at the maximum speed of the
polisher. If this does not happen, the accessories may be
damaged and cause injury and damage to the user;
▪ Never put down the equipment before the rotary
accessory has completely stopped. The rotary accessory
may touch the surface, making you lose the control of
the polisher;
▪ Make sure that the ventilation slots are not clogged while
operating. Do not place any objects over the slots;
▪ Make sure that you don't damage the electrical circuits,
gas and water pipes when operating the equipment. Any
damage to these installations can cause fire, explosion,
electric shock or property damage.
When operating the polisher, plan pauses and avoid
operating the appliance for long periods of time.
Permanent vibrations are harmful to health.
