Before you start working

Ensure the log splitter is only used by users who have
familiarized themselves with the instruction manual.
Before starting the log splitter, check the leak-tightness
of the fuel system, particularly the visible parts such as
hydraulic hoses and couplings. In case of leakage or
damage, do not turn the log splitter on and request it's
the repair from an official dealer.
Before using the log splitter, replace defective parts as
well as all other used and damaged parts.
Check that all nuts and screws are properly screwed. It
is important to check regularly the log splitter to ensure
a safe and good performance.
Make all adjustments and work necessary for the
correct assembly of the log splitter. If you have any
questions or difficulties, contact your official dealer.
Before starting the electric motor, remove all objects on
top of the log splitter (tools, accessories, cloths, etc.).

While operating

Keep third parties away from the working area. Never
work while animals or people, particularly children, are
in the danger zone. When using the log splitter, pieces
of wood may be projected to the sides.
Always place the log splitter on a firm, level floor in
order to prevent the log splitter from falling or slipping.
Work only in daylight or with good artificial lighting and
do not work with unfavorable weather conditions such
as rain, thunder and, in particular, under the danger of
lightning.
Keep both hands on the control lever and ON/OFF
switch. Thus, you avoid accidents while the log
splitter is running.
The control and safety devices installed must not be
removed or inhibited.
In case of nausea, headaches, vision problems
(e.g. reduced field of vision), hearing problems,
dizziness, reduced concentration capacity, stop working
immediately.
Start-up:
Switch on the log splitter carefully following the
operating instructions in the instruction manual. Using
the log splitter according to these instructions reduces
the risk of injury.

Maintenance and cleaning

When performing cleaning, adjustment, repair or
maintenance work, always wear gloves and place the
log splitter on a stable, flat floor.
Allow the splitter to cool down.
Check the log splitter frequently, especially before
storage (e.g. before the winter period), regarding wear
and damage.
Replace worn out or damaged parts immediately for
safety reasons so that the equipment is always in a safe
operating condition.
Cleaning:
Do not use strong cleaning products. These products
can damage plastics and metals and impair the safe
operation of your tool.
Maintenance:
Only the maintenance work described in these
operating instructions may be carried out, all other
work must be performed by an official dealer.
Use only VITO authorized accessories or technically
identical parts. Otherwise, damage to the log splitter
may occur.
For safety reasons, the fuel components (hoses, tap,
tank, tank cap and couplings) should be checked
regularly to detect damage and leaks. If necessary, they
should be replaced by an official dealer.
Always keep warning and indication stickers clean and
legible.
Keep all nuts and screws properly screwed so that the
log splitter is in a safe working condition.
If you remove components or safety devices for
maintenance work, they must be replaced immediately
and correctly.
If you lack the necessary knowledge and means, always
contact an official dealer.
