Optimizing motion detection
•
The camera's passive infrared motion sensor detects heat
signatures of moving objects.
•
You'll generally get good detection results by pointing the
camera at an angle where people will be moving across the
coverage area (i.e., from left to right or right to left, see figure
on right) as the motion sensor is less sensitive to movement of
people walking towards it.
•
Avoid aiming the camera at areas surrounded by large trees and bushes that sway a lot in the wind.
This may cause false alerts during extreme weather conditions.
•
The camera's motion sensor sensitivity can be configured in the Swann Security app. As every home
environment is unique, we recommend experimenting with the motion sensor sensitivity settings to
find out which works best for yours.
•
You can adjust the angle of the floodlights so that the required areas are illuminated when motion
is detected during the night.
