If the old EEPROM is defective, replace the EEPROM and write the above
mentioned values into the new EEPROM.
Connect a grey scale signal to the AV socket pin 20 and set the TV to receive the
signal. Set AV in the Connections menu to V.AUX.
Set Brilliance = 32, Colour = 32 and Contrast = 20.
Enter Service mode and select Picture adjustments in the Monitor service menu.
Select the parameter to change and press GO. Change the parameter setting with
m
p
and
. Press GO when the parameter setting is ok.
Select a new parameter or press STOP to return the Monitor service menu.
Set Colour temp in the Picture adjustments menu to Norm.
Cover the auto contrast (placed together with the STBY/ON LED on the upper
right-hand side of the TV) with e.g. a black cloth. Hold the Beo4 remote control
below the cloth for operating the TV.
Select BRIOF in the Picture adjustments menu.
If grey fl ecks are visible in the black part of the grey scale adjust BRIOF until the
grey fl ecks just disappear (it must be watched in a dark room). If not adjust BRIOF
until grey fl ecks appear and then adjust downwards until they just disappear.
Adjust RCT and BCT to correct grey level in the grey scale.
Adjust WPR and WPB to correct white level in the grey scale.
Readjust the Grey level if necessary.
BeoVision 5 provides the opportunity to choose from three different picture
formats by means of the Beo4 remote control.
FORMAT 1: Panoramic (default) shows the largest picture and 4:3 standard
m
p
picture. Press
or
to toggle between the two views.
FORMAT 2: Letter box view. It is possible to move the picture up or down by
pressing m or
p
.
FORMAT 3: 16:9 wide screen. Format 3 will usually be selected automatically, but
can be selected manual.
"Geometry adjustments" only have to be made in format 3.
Press TV and toggle the LIST key until the Beo4 display reads FORMAT, then press
1, 2 or 3 to select a format.
Geometry adjustments must be done in both PAL and NTSC systems.
Connect a standard PAL test pattern (e.g. Philips) to the AV socket pin 20 and set
the TV to receive the signal. Set AV in the Connections menu to V.AUX.
Select FORMAT 3.
Enter Service mode and select Geometry adjustments in the Monitor service menu.
Select the parameter to change and press GO. Change the parameter setting with
m
p
and
. Press GO when the parameter setting is ok.
Select a new parameter or press STOP to return the Monitor service menu.
Vertical shift (V-SH)
Adjust V-SH to centre the picture on the screen.
