Disconnect mains voltage
Remove front frame and front cloth
Unmount the plasma screen
Remove back cover
Connect ESD-mat to chassis
Making measurements
Place modules on the ESD-mat
Mount the plasma screen
Reconnect all leads
Place leads in the holders
- Disconnect mains voltage.
Disconnect all other cables connected to BeoVision 5.
- Pull out the lower part of the front frame and then the upper part.
- Remove 11 screws on the front cloth.
- Pull out the lower part of the front cloth and let it slide slowly downwards.

- Assemble the two service stands by following the visual guide on page 6.26
Assembling the service stand.
- Remove 4 blinds on the back part of the BeoVision 5. See page 6.27 Unmounting
the plasma screen.
- Remove 4 the screws that were hidden behind the blinds.
- Two screws for adjusting the position of plasma screen must be turned by turns
downwards undtil the screen cannot get any further downwards. See
- Disconnect 4 cables 3P447, 3P422, 60P448 and 60P449. See
- Let the upper part of the plasma screen tilt away from the back part of the
BeoVision 5. See

- Place the plasma screen on the two service stands.
- Disconnect 3 cables PC1, Seriel and Mains Cord. See
- Remove 4+21 screws to loosen the back cover. See page 6.29 Removal of plasma
screen back cover and the following pages.
- Connect the ESD-mat to the mechanical chassis (C). See
- To make measurements please see page 5.2 Adjustments after replacing PCBs in
the plasma panel.
- Modules must be placed on the ESD mat to protect the modules against ESD.
Must be done in the opposite way as unmount the plasma screen. The two screws
for adjusting the position of plasma screen must be turned upwards until the
distence from the top of the TV (without front frame) to the top of the picture are
70mm in both sides. See
- After replacement of modules please remember to reconnect all leads to the plugs
as before. Ensure that all leads are connected.
- Place the leads in the holders appropriate for this.
