These devices can be used only in conjunction with our alarm system and in compliance with the instructions supplied in this manual and in the manual of part no. 7001 and part no. 7002 compatible control
panels. Devices can be installed indoor or outdoor properly sheltered from the elements and according to operating temperature limits. Opening any section of the devices other than the battery compartment,
will immediately void device's warranty.
Any other use is considered improper and forbidden! The manufacturer is not liable for damages resulting from the improper use of the product other than those provided herein.
1.1) DECLARATION OF CONFORMITY
Silentron s.p.a. declares under its sole responsibility that the products described in this manual comply with the requirements set out by the Directive CE 1999/5/CE - R&TTE. The complete declaration is
available in our site www.silentron.com/CE-declaration.html
2) OVERVIEW
These devices are wireless Dual-Tech detectors (passive infrared + microwave) designed to detect human intrusion in the protected area and to transmit an alarm signal via radio when trespassing occurs. The
following descriptions apply to all detector range models, their only difference being the shape of the protected aria which varies according to the type of lens being used. Alarm status is transmitted only when
both technologies detect an intrusion: the covered range is coloured grey in the picture.
3) OPERATION
The thermal infrared energy emitted by a person or an animal is detected by the device's special pyroelectric motion sensor with the Fresnel lens located in the front of the device extending the detection
range. When the passive infrared section of the device detects that energy levels exceed preset thresholds, the alarm signal will be transmitted only if also the microwave Doppler radar section detects
movement.
3.1) Reporting to the control unit
3.1.1) BURGLAR ALARM: an alarm will trigger when a mass (human being or animal) having a different temperature from the background moves across the device's sensitive beams. Movements are best
detected when beams are diagonally crossed. To reduce battery use when system is enabled, the detector will trigger an alarm and then wait for preset alarm inhibition time (see. Item 4.10), before triggering a
second alarm. <0} Alarm inhibition time begins after last detected movement.
3.1.2) LOW BATTERY: The device's LED indicator signals the need to replace the battery within one week at the latest by flashing 5 times in quick succession. The LED flashes also when it is excluded and the
event is transmitted to the control unit, displayed on screen and stored in the event log.
3.1.3) SUPERVISION: in compliance with Standard EN 50131 and according to manufacturer certified safety level, the device sends a supervisory signal to the control unit to confirm its proper operations.
3.1.4) TAMPER PROTECTION: tamper alarm is triggered when battery compartment is opened or when sensor is partially or totally detached. You must therefore enable control panel's TEST mode before
replacing the battery.
3.1.5) ALARM DISPLAY: a built-in tri-color LED reports each alarm. The green LED reports infrared detection, the orange one microwave detection and the red LED reports the actual alarm (both detections). If
tri-color LED is excluded, LEDs will light-up only when TEST mode is enabled. Red LED will flash in the event of low battery.
3.1.6.) 3.1.6.) ANTI-MASKING: "AA" models feature 24/7 anti-masking function (excludable). In compliance with standard EN 50131, this function triggers a tamper alarm when masking attempts are detected.
Caution! For this reason you must enable control panel's TEST mode before cleaning the lens.
3.1.7) CAPTURE OF FRAMES: this device can control the capture of photo by PhotoPir and/or WiFi cameras installed in the alarm system
4) SETUP
Access control panel's setup menu and follow on-screen instructions to acquire and set detector's operating parameters. The following functions are available:
4.1) Assigned area: enable the device by entering the Area to which it is assigned. One device can be assigned to multiple Areas.
4.2) Alarm delay: the device will report an alarm after the programmed delay.
4.3) Type of alarm: set the type of alarm. The alarm triggered by the device can enable a "general alarm" (acoustic sound from sirens and alarm reporting sent to external devices) or a "voice alarm" (pre-
recorded voice message broadcasted by sirens and alarm reporting sent to external devices). Two different voice alarm messages are available.
4.4) Range adjustment: assign an appropriate range setting based on device's model and the size of protected area selecting between Level 1 (lowest - about 4 meters) and Level 4 (highest - about 15 meters).
4.5) Alarm acknowledgment: adjust from 1 min. (shortest) to 8 min. (longest). Increase time length based on how many possible false alarm sources are in the environment (drafts, heaters, random large
insects, moving curtains or similar items).
4.5.1) Caution! adjustments described in item 4.4 (range/sensivity) and in item 4.5 (alarm delay) must be repeated also for the microwave section.
4.6) Pulse counts adjustment: adjust from 1 (report alarm at first effective detection) to 3 (report alarm at third detection) based to how many random improper alarms are possible.
4.7) Temperature compensation: set Y (yes) to enable this function only when the average temperature of the installation site is very high.
4.8) Double detection: set Y(yes) to dramatically reduce the likelihood of false alarms in areas that have many possible false alarm sources or when system is installed outside the premises.
4.9) Alarm LED: default setting is "enabled". LED alarm can be disabled.
4.10) Inhibition time after an alarm (stop alarm temporarily): set from 0 to 180 seconds based on how many people visit the area on average. Increase when many people visit the protected area in order to
save battery power (see section 8 Battery Life).
4.11) Models with anti-masking (AA): this function can be enabled (Y) or disabled (N). Caution! When the function is enabled, the alarm is triggered 24/7.
12) "Doorbell" function (Chime): this function operates only when the control panel is disarmed. It reports an access in the area that is protected by the specific detector. The control panel will sound a short
musical signal each time the area is accessed when this function is enabled. You can also setup one or more sounders to broadcast voice message 2 (previously recorded with an appropriate message such as a
welcome one).
4.13) Interactive setup (AND)
When the AND function is enabled, the alarm is triggered only when at least two sensors in an armed area (1-6) are alarmed within a preset and adjustable time frame. This function diminishes the likelihood of
improper alarm in areas that have many possible false alarm sources (especially outdoors)by suitably positioning the two detectors to protect such area.
The following AND setup options are available:
4.13.1) AND for two detectors: with this option, this detector will be setup with another one. Select the second detector from the list of preset detectors displayed on the control panel and select within how
long the second detection triggers an alarm.
4.13.2) AND for an Area: all of the detectors in an armed area are involved with this configuration. It will alarm centre if at least two of them will go into alarm within the required time, to be selected.
4.14) Camera/PhotoPir association: during the device configuration it is possible to combine this detector to one or more cameras and to set a capture delay.
5) DETECTOR TEST
When the control panel's TEST mode is enabled, the detector's TEST mode is going to be automatically enabled when a movement is detected. Detection could also take place after alarm inhibition time. You
can otherwise enable detector's TEST mode by temporarily pulling it out of its bracket, as you would to replace the battery. As alarm inhibition time is not enabled during TEST mode, the LED will display each
alarm and same will be stored in the control unit when both the control panel and the detector are operating in TEST mode.
6) INSTALLATION - see diagrams
The product includes a DT detector and its flat wall mounting bracket. Part no. PD1137 corner mounting bracket is available for corner mounting which is recommended for indoor protection.
Caution! The installation height shown in drawings may vary based on protection requirements. Please take into account the following items:
7140-7143 models:
7143 model:
greater height = greater area for animals to circulate freely
Caution! Before establishing the device's permanent location, make sure that the position selected for the unit is within the control panel's radio range by setting control panel's TEST mode and by checking
that same receives an appropriate radio signal.
Caution! Hot/cold air drafts can cause false alarms: avoid such conditions or similar ones.
Caution! Make sure that the device's field of sight is not partially or totally obscured during and after installation.
Caution! The supplied magnet must always be mounted, exactly as shown in the drawings. Magnet must remain on the wall in order to trigger a tamper alarm should the whole unit be torn from the wall. Test
mode is enabled when the unit is detached from the magnet. Since test mode considerably increases battery use, it should be enabled only temporarily.
7) BATTERY REPLACEMENT- see diagrams
Replace battery when requirement is reported by the device and/or the control unit. Use a CR123A 3V battery.
Enable control panel's TEST mode before replacing the battery (see control panels instruction manual).
Caution! Used batteries must be disposed of in compliance with current regulations, even when equipment is scrapped and must therefore be removed from the devices before they are scrapped.
8) TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS- see diagrams
While preserving operations and intended use, the manufacturer reserves all rights to change products' technical specifications to make improvement at any time and without prior notice. In addition to the
above, the following specifications pertain to the device's operating temperature and standard use (residential): 20 degree Celsius (± 5 degree Celsius).
