Automatic mode
In Automatic mode (default), after
alarming, if an increased concen-
tration of refrigerant is not detect-
ed, the detector will automatically
reset the baseline detection level
after approximately 3 seconds.
The IR LD 1.0 will now only
alarm when it detects higher
concentrations.
To return to maximum sensitivity
(for the selected sensitivity level):

Move the probe tip in to fresh
air for a few seconds.

In Automatic reset mode the A
icon will appear in the lower
left of the screen (see Fig. 7).

6.4.2
Manual mode
In manual mode, if refrigerant is
detected, the IR LD 1.0 will con-
tinuously alarm until: either the
baseline level is reset (see Section
6.4.3), or until the probe is moved
away from the refrigerant source.
To activate Manual mode:

Press the Mode selection but-
ton (see Fig. 2; item 7).
The M icon will appear in the
lower left of the screen (see
Fig. 8).

To reset the baseline and the
alarm in Manual mode:

Briefly press the Sensitivity
button.
A reset arrow will appear
above the M icon (see Fig. 9).

The reset arrow remains visible
until a new baseline is set; the
length of time the reset arrow
remains visible depends on the
concentration of refrigerant.

It is best to wait for the
reset arrow to clear before
proceeding.

Searching for leaks
1. Expose the sensor to fresh air
for 3-5 seconds.
2. Slowly move the probe tip into
the test area.
If refrigerant is detected, the
IR LD 1.0 will alarm.
