Operation
Tension the chain E F
Note
The cutting chain must not sag, however, it
should be possible to pull it about 3 millime-
ters away from the bar F.
Screw the locking screw E  [1] out far enough to
Î
allow rotation of the adjusting wheel E [2].
Turn the adjusting wheel E [2] clockwise to ten-
Î
sion the chain or anticlockwise to slacken it E 2.
Manually rotate the chain to check for fault-free
Î
running.
Tighten the locking screw again E 3 .
Î
Note
During running in of a new chain, it should
be re-tensioned after no more than five cuts.
Operation
Operating times
Please observe the times stipulated in local byelaws.
Check with your local authorities to determine if
there are any operating time limitations.
Cutting chain oil
Risk of damage to the tool
Use of old oil can result in damage to the
oil pump, bar and chain!
¾ Never use old oil to lubricate the chain.
Environmental pollution
¾ Chain oil is released into the
environment during operation, therefore,
special biodegradable vegetable oil
should be used as a chain oil.
Attention!
Only operate the tool with sufficient chain oil.
¾ Check the oil volume via the oil level indicator.
Note
The approximately 80 ml, tank volume is
only sufficient for about 20 min running time.
Fill with chain oil G
Risk of slipping due to spilt oil
¾ Take care not to spill any oil.
¾ Immediately wipe up any spilt oil.

¾ Ensure that no dirt gets into the oil tank.
Fold the clip [A] on the tank cap upwards 1 .
Î
Slowly unscrew the tank cap and take it off 2 .
Î
Fill carefully with chain lubricating oil to about

1 cm below the bottom edge of the filler 3 .
Retighten the tank cap and fold the clip [A]
Î
down  4 .
Note
The oil level can be seen in the oil level
indicator [1].
Check chain lubrication
Check the quantity of oil in the tank.
Î
Start the device.
Î
Hold the chain for a reasonable period about
Î
15 cm above a suitable surface. If the chain lu-
brication is adequate, the oil sprayed off from the
saw chain leaves a light trail.
Adjusting the working angle H
Risk of injuries due to the cutting tool.
¾ Only adjust the device with the motor
switched off and the cutting tool at a
standstill.
¾ Before any work on the device, first
remove the operating arm with the
permanently installed power pack.
The device can be set in any of five different working
angles. This allows you to easily reach problematic
and difficult-to-access positions in the garden.
Press and hold the locating button 1 .

Set the working angle 2 .

Release the locating button.
Î
3 The locating button of the pole saw engages audibly.
Connecting the pole saw to the operating
arm I
Press the locking button [A] on the operating arm

and insert the operating arm into the locator on
the pole saw until the locating button [B]
engages 12 .

¾ Ensure the button is correctly engaged
Note
A middle handle is available as an optional
accessory for the operating arm. You can
find more information and assembly instruc-
tions in the operating manual for the
operating arm.
