Removing/Inserting the Battery
To remove the battery, push in the release buttons and
pull the battery pack away from the tool.
Always remove battery pack before

changing or removing accessories.
To insert the battery, slide the pack into the body of the
tool. Make sure it latches securely into place.
Only use accessories specifically

recommended for this tool. Others
may be hazardous.
Always store tool in its bucket with insert to avoid

Cable Installation
To reduce the risk of injury, always
WARNING
wear proper eye protection marked
to comply with ANSI Z87.1. Always wear leather
gloves over latex/rubber gloves to avoid entangle-
ment. The cable is under pressure and can uncoil
unexpectedly. Cable tip may be sharp.
Remove the cable for cleaning after each use. Differ-
ent size and types of cables are available for different
applications.
To remove the cable:
1. Remove the battery pack and set the front handle to
the unlocked position
the tool.
2. Remove the four screws from the drum cover.
WARNING! The cable is under pressure and can
uncoil unexpectedly. Keep pressure on the cable so
it does not uncoil.
3. Hold the cable firmly from under the drum cover while
pulling off the front handle. The inner drum will be
exposed.
4. Feed the cable carefully back through the front handle
and tuck it into the inner drum. Set the front handle
aside.
5. Remove the inner drum with cable from the tool.
6. When cleaning or maintaining the cable, carefully
uncoil the cable from the inner drum. Follow the
cleaning instructions under "Maintenance".
To install the cable:
1. Remove the battery pack and set the front handle to
the unlocked position
the tool.
2. Fully wind the clean, dry cable into the inner drum in
the direction of the arrow.
3. Place the inner drum with cable back into the tool.
4. Carefully pull the cable tip out of the inner drum and
feed it through the front handle. WARNING! The
cable is under pressure and can uncoil unexpectedly.
Keep pressure on the cable so it does not uncoil.
5. Place the front handle over the inner drum and rein-
stall the four screws. Tighten securely.
6. Remove the protective tip cover from new cables
before use.

Using Forward/Reverse Switch
1. For forward (clockwise) rotation, push in the forward/
reverse switch from the right side of the tool ►. Check
the direction of rotation before use.
2. For reverse (counterclockwise) rotation, push in the
forward/reverse switch from the left side of the tool
◄. Check direction of rotation before use.
3. To lock the trigger, push the forward/reverse switch
to the center position. The trigger will not work while
the forward/reverse switch is in the center locked
position. Always lock the trigger or remove the bat-
tery pack before performing maintenance, changing
accessories, storing the tool and any time the tool is
not in use.
