Safety directions for area of application
The machine must only be used outdoors.
The exhaust gases contain carbon monoxide
and hydrocarbons that are highly dangerous
to humans and animals if inhaled.
Investigate the subsoil before using the
posthole digger! It may be dangerous to
life and/or cause serious material damage if
there are buried electrical cables, telephone
and bre cables, water, gas and sewage
pipes, etc. in the location where you intend
to drill!
Only use the machine for drilling in ordinary
ground. It is not intended for drilling ice,
stone, mud or frozen ground. The machine
must not be used in rain and must not be
exposed to water or moisture. Only use the
machine in daylight.
Keep your feet and legs at a safe distance
from the rotating drill bit. Make sure that
loose clothing, hair or similar do not get
caught in the rotating drill bit.
Be aware of the danger of stones, etc. being
thrown by the rotating drill bit.
Hold the machine handle rmly. If the drill
bit hits a hard object in the ground, the
force of the impact may be transmitted to
you through the handles if the drill bit is
suddenly blocked.
Watch your footing when using the machine.
Loose soil, small stones and roots from the
drilled hole are a safety risk if you trip on
them as you work.
Always ensure you are standing rmly and
safely on the ground.
The engine parts become hot when in use.
Avoid touching them and do not put the
machine down on in ammable materials
(dry grass, dry leaves, etc.) whilst the engine
is hot.
Store ammable materials at a safe distance
from the engine, as the exhaust gases are
very hot and may ignite such materials.
