Product should be installed by a licensed electrician and

wires when power is applied.

To be an effective warning device, this product
produces bright light that could be hazardous to
eyesight. Do not stare directly at the light. Rapid
flashing could induce photosensitive epilepsy.

OVERVIEW — The 120 Vac Model 225 is UL Listed and has
been investigated by UL and meets Type 4X (watertight
and corrosion resistant) enclosure requirements. It also
meets IP 66 (dust-tight and protection against heavy
seas) enclosure requirements. The enclosure is also
IP69K compliant. Hardware and installation details are
left to the user.
The Model 225 can be mounted on a flat surface or on
a 1/2" NPT pipe as shown in Figure 1. Optional wall
brackets are available for mounting the light on walls or in
corners. (See "Table 1 Replacement Part" on page 2.)
The conduit run from the device to the splice box shall not
be longer than 10" (25.4 cm).

NOTE: To prevent the connection from loosening, tighten
the fixture to a MINIMUM torque of 5 ft-lb (6.8 Nm) after
threading it onto the pipe.
Unpacking the Device — After unpacking the device,
examine it for damage and verify the parts. If a part is
missing or damaged do not attempt to install and contact
Federal Signal Customer Support.
Wiring the Device
SHOCK HAZARD: To avoid electrical shock hazards, do
not connect or disconnect wires while power is applied.
The Model 225 light is provided with three leads: one
black, one white, and one green/yellow.
To wire the light:
1.
Connect the black lead to the phase (line) side of
the 120 Vac power source.
2.
Connect the white lead to the common (neutral)
side of the 120 Vac power source.
3.
If required by local codes, connect the green/yellow
lead to earth ground.
Maintenance

Any maintenance to the light system must be
performed by a trained electrician who is thoroughly
familiar with all applicable national and local codes
in the country of use.

Any maintenance to the light system must be done
with power turned off.

After performing any maintenance, test the light
system to ensure that it is operating properly.
